Ladyhawke Covers ‘Womanizer’

4:28PM Jess McGuire | Has it been nearly a month since I last mentioned Ladyhawke on Defamer Australia? How dreadful of me. I should remedy this situation at once by bringing your attention to something that “did the rounds” (internet wise) about a month ago. I realise my coverage is late, but I’ve been busy, and hey – better late than never, right!? Y’all know how everyone (cough) has been banging on about Lily Allen’s cover of Britney’s ‘Womanizer’, yeah? Lily “accidentally” gave the song to Mark Ronson to play on the radio hoping he’d talk over it but he didn’t and now her record company is cranky at her, blah blah blah. WHATEVER. I much prefer Ladyhawke’s version of the song which was recorded for Radio 1’s Live Lounge. I think it’s beautiful. You can download it via Hard Candy. More »

New Images Suggest Britney’s Comeback As Slutty Lobby Waitress Nearly Complete

10:50AM Seth | Hot off the pages of Britney.com, we bring you these stills from the set of “Womanizer”—a new single that announces with a man-hating electrothump that the Queen of Pop is back, and for real this time, dammit. So productive has the New VMA-Festooned Britney become, she plays three separate vixens in this production. In the accompanying photo, Britney is a PVC-bustier-rocking hotel cocktail waitress delivering a snifter of Courvoisier with a snarl, presumably to whichever Timbaland protege produced this song. More stills after the jump! More »

Britney Spears Reunites With ‘Toxic’ Director, Autotune For New Single ‘Womanizer’

4:45AM Kyle Buchanan | Fresh off her VMAs victory and rumoured reunion with Kevin Federline, Britney Spears continues to pound the comeback trail like it was a naughty windshield in need of a good pummelling-by-umbrella. Her latest salvo is the new single “Womanizer,” the first track off her upcoming album Circus. According to Us Weekly, Spears started shooting the video this week in Los Angeles under the guidance of “Toxic” helmer Joseph Kahn, donning a wig (another reunion!) and straddling a businessman in what’s being called “erotic” choreography. In the meantime, we have the single right here — have a listen (and a Cheeto). [Us] More »
