In ‘East Enders’ Land, Unionist Baby Sues You
12:00PM Clem Bastow | Since WorkChoices came along and buggered everything up for everyone, it’s been a while since we’ve had a good unfair dismissal case to sink our teeth into, so we can all join hands and thank the stage mothers of Britain for providing this corker: a baby who has been sacked from East Enders is likely to sue (via his mother) the show for unfair dismissal! That’s little Gabriel in the picture above, and as you can see, he means business. He knows his rights! We’re comin’ back, WE’RE COMIN’ BACK!!

Fairfax Strikewatch: Back In The Trenches
9:22AM Clem Bastow | After having decided to strike last Thursday to protest Fairfax Media’s proposed job cuts, sacking frenzy and general evil overlord behaviour – and leaving the weekend editions hollow shells in their absence – striking Fairfax journalists are back on the job today. 1:36PM Clem Bastow | If you’re Fairfax Media, the answer would be simple: can the editor-in-chief of one of your biggest papers! That’s right, just a day after Fairfax announced 550 jobs would be slashed across the board (the news, as other papers quaked in their boots regarding the apparent downturn in publishing the cuts reflected, reached as far as the UK), The Age’s editor-in-chief Andrew Jaspan – who’d been in the role since July of 2004 – was shown the door. Here’s the official word, and more over the jump.
Don Churchill, Fairfax’s chief executive for Victoria, broke the news to staff at a meeting this morning.
