12:42PM Jess McGuire | Okay, when I recently got a little excited about Delta Goodrem’s concert series and began running off at the mouth about how awesome her Dirty Dancing duets with lover Brian ‘The Potato’ McFadden sounded, I may have been taking the mickey just a little.
But the Delta fans who commented on my tongue-brushing-gently-against-cheek rave about the greatest showbiz personality to ever emerge from Sydney’s Hills District (sorry, Bec Cartwright) have led me to believe that I may have unintentionally been onto something.
Delta fan Jennifer commented “theres bits where you get up annd dance. and bits when you are just amazed with deltas talent. she is just amazing!” and if that doesn’t sound fantastic (or should I say ‘amazing’?) to you, then you’re a fool.
A review in the Courier Mail confirms that Delta’s tour is the greatest thing to ever happen in this country, although it sounds as though it’s McFadden whose responsible for delivering the concert goods. More »
Delta’s Live Shows Keep Sounding Better And Better!

The Basics Are Gonna Be Played On Californication!
11:38AM Jess McGuire | Defamer Australia favourites The Basics are about to launch a tour with Japanese rock’n'rollers The Bawdies, and as The Basics are renown for being a phenomenal live act, you’d be stupid in the head to miss them.
Two thirds of the band – you can call them Tim Heath and Kris Schroeder when you scream out their names at gigs – are devastatingly handsome red heads who make the bitches swoon with just a strum of their chosen stringed instruments (gingers are the new black, discuss) and the remaining third is the ever adorable skin-hitting (that means he plays the drums! I don’t mean in the Shoop rap sense!) Wally “Gotye” De Backer, and together they are Captain Planet… Planet Rock.
God. Even I don’t know what I’m saying anymore. Oh yeah! I remember – the dudes just informed their Facebook fans of the following thrilling update.
Exciting news – Sunday night’s episode of Californication will feature The Basics version of the Sonic’s classic ‘Have Love Will Travel’ and will play during a rather prominent scene – you’ll see.
Let me guess… Hank’s sexing something or someone he shouldn’t be?
If you wanna go and catch The Basics and The Bawdies when they hit the road, check after the jump for tour dates. More » MADONNA IS HEADING TO AUSTRALIA!
6:23PM Jess McGuire | Exciting news, pop fans! Apparently Madonna is bringing her latest Sticky And Sweet tour to Australia, which is something that’ll no doubt thrill men around the country!
Hardcore fans of Madge who may or may not be members of that fabulous pink mafia known as The Gays TM will be ecstatic over the opportunity to see their icon give her first performances down under in fifteen years, whilst the lads physically attracted to Madonna (and willing to snuggle with gristle/schedule sex between her work outs at the gym/forsake sausages on Christmas Day a la Guy Ritchie) can duke it out with baseball player A-Rod for her affections. Perhaps the next Mr Ciccone will be an Aussie? IT’S POSSIBLE!
First Madonna was coming to Australia. And then she wasn’t coming. Now this morning on Channel Seven’s Sunrise Molly Meldrum confirmed that Madonna is infact bringing her Sticky And Sweet Tour to Australia after all, and it could be as early as January 2009.
ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG ETC!

More Reasons To Love Snoop…
1:38PM Jess McGuire | Snoop Dogg is heading Down Under, and I could not be more excited about it. Especially if his arrival means even more amazing interviews with the rapper in our local rags.
Please note this fine piece from the Daily Telegraph, where we learn the following Snoop facts.
· He was not concerned about being banned from Oz during his Australasian tour, calmly stating (in a haze of smoke, I’d wager) “I am happy to be here. I didn’t worry ‘cuz I never done anything wrong over here, except rock the mic. I knew I would come back to Australia; some people just had a misunderstanding”
· Please note that “I never done anything wrong except rock the mic” will be my response to any angry accusations flung in my direction from this date forward.
· Why did “some people” have a problem with him last time he wanted to tour? “They were just trippin’ on my past as opposed to my future.” FO SHIZZ.
· Which of Snoop’s Aussie homies stepped up to give testimonials regarding his good character? Oh, only Russell Crowe and Eddie McGuire… HOW DID HE AND EDDIE MCGUIRE BECOME FRIENDS?! I don’t even care. Amazing. I want Snoop to become friends with more Australian celebrities, like Sonia Kruger (note to Sonia’s breakfast show producers – get Snoop on the program), and maybe Grant Denyer.
· Snoop’s planning on playing a bit of rugby league while he’s over here, confessing in a chillaxed tone “I think I’ll give it a try when I get to Sydney. I’m gonna try to get 12 points, I ain’t scared.” Specifically aiming for 12 points? He ain’t scared? Unsurprising. The man is a god.
· His current tour is called ‘Smoked Out’. Can’t imagine why “some people” may have thought the man likes to huff on illegal drugs from time to time.
Three cheers for Snoop Dogg, ma nizzles!
