One of the only good things to come out of this year's The Other Boleyn Girl was a tough lesson in public relations for young actresses. As leading ladies Natalie Portman and Scarlett Johansson took their quasi-lesbian chic press tour from S&M magazine covers to poufy-lipped faux-kisses on red carpets, the period piece will sadly be remembered only for those posters shoving Scarlett's mushy cleavage in America's collective face. But the British version of Nat/ScarJo is still trying ever so hard to emulate the strategy, getting cheeky at film festivals, hugging one another just this shy of arousingly, and yes, even copying the original pair's near-miss-kiss in public. Looks like Penelope co-stars Christina Ricci and Reese Witherspoon could learn a thing or two from touchy-feely new couple Scarlett Johansson and Natalie Portman: when co-starring in a film that's not guaranteed to be a hit, don't stop at matching haircuts and standing thisclose together at the premiere. Go in for the kill already! Holding on to each other and smiling from ear to ear (but not rear to rear), Reesetina looked almost as lovey-dovey as ScarNat at the LA premiere of Penelope last night, but one set of tattooed cleavage does not a Fake Kiss make.

The Other Boleyn Girl looks like a lovely little film, just lovely, but OMG DID NATALIE AND SCARLETT JUST MAKE OUT?! It certainly looked like it last week at the Berlin premiere, as photographers got hot and heavy anticipating a moment where it seemed like Natalie was going in for some full tilt boogie with ScarJo. This moment came on the heels of that whole "Scarlett is sexy" comment that Natalie made in their joint W interview. And there was that whole matter of the duo's matching haircuts on The Today Show. So why are Scar and Nat getting so friendly these days? Hint: it has less to do with intimacy and more to do with putting asses in seats.
