Amelle Sugababes Goes Batshit Crazy

4:11PM Clem Bastow | When we read this piece about Amelle Berrabah allegedly going nutso after an argument and smashing up a car, we can’t say we were that surprised – after all, it could’ve just been pent up stress following her boyfriend Freddy’s vicious machete attack at Christmas. However, we weren’t prepared for the downright Springer-esque list of reasons why you might call Amelle “troubled” and get away with it: Amelle’s Sugababe bandmates Keisha Buchanan and Heidi Range, have so far stood by troubled Amelle who as been at the centre of a number of highly-publicised incidents since joining girl-band, the Sugababes, in 2006. Just a few weeks ago, boyfriend Freddie Fuller, 25, was left for dead in an horrific machete attack. He is still recovering in hospital from the incident which took place on Christmas Eve. Before that Freddie was cleared of allegations of raping Amelle’s sister Samiya, 20. And another sister Zakiya, 34, was accused of stealing cash and credit cards from patients and colleagues at the hospital where she worked. The Sugababes new single – Denial – is out next month. Amelle Sugababes Spends Christmas In Hospital

11:41AM Clem Bastow | However, Amelle Berrabah was not unwell herself – despite Keisha Buchanan’s best efforts with her bandmate-themed voodoo doll collection – rather, this story comes to you from the John Witherspoon Memorial Nearest And Dearest News department. Amelle and her boyfriend found themselves pitched into a world of Christmas Eve horror when thugs set upon Freddie with a machete and nearly severed his arm and leg. Freddie Fuller, 25, was found lying in a pool of blood with his left arm and leg hanging by a thread after the attack in Aldershot, Hampshire. Former tree surgeon Mr Fuller, from Hammersmith, in West London, also suffered huge gashes and stab wounds to his head and legs, according to The Sun newspaper. The couple were reportedly enjoying a night out with friends at Yates’s Wine Lodge before the attack. He underwent an emergency six-hour operation at Frimley Park Hospital, in Surrey, to save his limbs and Amelle, 23, was said to have spent Christmas Day by his bedside in intensive care. A source close to Amelle told The Sun: “She’s desperately upset. Freddie’s arm was almost hacked clean off and he lost a hell of a lot of blood.” No shit, “source”! What was the other option, “Amelle is doing okay and popped down to the local for a few eggnogs while they stitched up her bloke; it was Christmas, after all”? Sugababes Heading For Another Line-Up Change? Obligatory “Round, Round” Gag Goes Here

10:55AM Clem Bastow | Just when you thought they’d settled on the “ultimate” Sugababes line-up, it seems all is not well in ‘Babeland, with reports suggesting that the newest member, Amelle Berrabah, is not pulling her weight – and that the group’s “people” have been holding secret try-outs for possible replacement members as a result. Hold on, infighting within the Sugababes camp, have we all gone mad? Are the planets aligning or something? Those girls love each other! A source said: “Keisha and Heidi are the ultimate professionals when it comes to their career. They have worked hard for everything they have achieved. Amelle doesn’t seem to take it as seriously. When the girls were recording their latest album, Amelle kept arriving late to the studio. They had blazing rows over timekeeping.” If the whispers are true and Amelle does get the boot, that will bring about the fourth Sugababes line-up since the OG days of Siobhan Donaghy. Her boyfriend, we should add, has been accused of raping her sister. Barely 18 months after finding new member Amelle Berrabah, she is on the verge of being fired – unless she dumps her boyfriend Freddie Fuller. Sugababes have been in meltdown talks over the past week and have now delivered Amelle, 23, an ultimatum – “It’s Freddie or us”. Fuller is now on bail accused of raping Amelle’s younger sister Samiya, 20 – which will be heard in a trial later this year.
