Whales Cry For Free Spirited Isabel As Adrian Swims Off Into The Sunset
8:55AM Clem Bastow | There’s a kind of hush in the oceans of the world today as dolphins and whales everywhere take a moment to pause and reflect on the sad death of one of their own – well, perhaps “death” is a little melodramatic, but it seems that our free spirited hippie princess Isabel Lucas’ relationship with fellow green star Adrian Grenier is as finished as a penguin in an oil slick. Our princess is pictured at Hayden Panettiere’ Whaleman Foundation Benefit over the weekend, at which she was flying solo, and as usual, a helpful source is able to fill in the gaps:
“It wasn’t working out,” says the source.

Free Spirited Isabel Appears In Adrian Grenier’s Free Spirited Doco (Presumably For Free)
1:33PM Clem Bastow | Isabel Lucas and Adrian Grenier are fast becoming a more interesting version of Alicia “vegan beeswax candles at my wedding” Silverstone and whoever her husband is when it comes to the eco-conscious celebrity coupling of the moment.
Taking a brief timeout from her hectic dolphin saving schedule, Isabel has popped up in Grenier’s new vanity project eco documentary series for US cable, the wittily titled Alter Eco.
Do you see what he did there??
Lucas, the Australian face of the anti-whaling campaign, is assisting and starring in Grenier’s debut producing project Alter Eco, a 13-part series for cable channel Planet Green.
Set in LA, the show follows Grenier and his green entourage as they help people take steps to live more environmentally-sustainable lifestyles.
“I’m helping out wherever I can because I think it’s a fantastic concept,” Lucas told Confidential from her parent’s home in Cairns yesterday.
“Adrian has always been ecologically-conscious and we definitely relate on that.”
Yes yes, very Important and Serious and Good For Your Digestive Health stuff, but what excites me more is the tiny tidbit at the end of the article that says “The former Home and Away star is in Australia visting her parents for two weeks before returning to Hollywood to begin shooting the big budget blockbuster Transformers 2.”
FREE SPIRITED ISABEL IS GOING TO BE IN TRANSFORMERS 2 WITH THE LASERS AND THE ROBOTS AND THE EXPLOSION LOLS?!

Free-Spirited Isabel Bathes In The Blood Of 100 Slaughtered Virgin Dolphins On The Full Moon
12:54PM Clem Bastow | Isabel Lucas is quite nobly continuing her crusade to save the whales, and has taken to posing next to a sinister-looking whale harpoon to get her message across, complete with suitably serious facial expression.
Although, with those beautiful, sad-slanted eyebrows, she’s a bit like an Irish setter; there’s not much difference between the facial expressions denoting “serious”, “upset”, “confident” or “psychotic”.
Sitting beside a giant harpoon, used by Australian whalers just 30 years ago, Isabel explained the gruesome process.
“Looking at this, it’s just a big lump of metal, but then you start to think about the history of the thing,” she said.
“The tip is filled with explosives and the hooks on the side, here, catch on to their internal organs. ‘I’ve seen how they kill these animals, it is absolutely brutal.”
And she knows, at last week’s AFI Awards, Isabel told Confidential she’d been swimming in a sea of red blood while on a Greenpeace mercy mission!
Putting aside the obvious seriousness of what Isabel is talking about, just cast your eye over that final paragraph once more.
That’s right, News Ltd put an exclamation mark right after “swimming in a sea of red blood while on a Greenpeace mercy mission”.
Let’s apply their journalistic excellence to some more sobering facts: “The blaze was so intense, authorities say it could take days to identify the victims!”
More! “A father and his four children were all killed in the crash!”
Try it next time you have to tell someone something serious.
“You’re dumped!” More »
Free-Spirited Isabel Sure To Be Comforted By Latest Development In Whale-Saving Saga
8:35AM Clem Bastow | With news quickly spreading that Isabel Lucas is now a wanted woman in Japan, following her attempts to interfere with dolphin and whale “culls” (because, you know, there are so many of them that they need to be culled), in her private moments she is no doubt feeling like she’s bitten off more than she can chew.
And when all the nag champa and dreamcatchers in the world can’t help right your chi, what is the answer to the woes of a whales-saving, free-spirited Logie-winner?
Facebook.
That’s right, “Suuport Isabel Lucas and save the whales campaign” (yes, suuport) has sprung up, and the group boasts a world-beating 76 members.
Thanks to Facebook’s Amazon-esque “If you like this, you’ll love…” Related Groups function, we can see that “Suuport Isabel Lucas and save the whales campaign” is in fine company alongside “FUCK OFF JAPAN… LEAVE OUR WHALES ALONE!!!!” and “If this group Reaches 150,000 members I will name my son Batman”.
Add this to the humpback whale made by interlocking hippies on Bondi Beach, and those whales must be feeling mighty relieved. More »
Free-Spirited Whales Cry For Isabel Lucas
10:11AM Clem Bastow | We told you last week how Isabel Lucas, formerly Home & Away’s free-spirited Tasha, tried to stop a dolphin cull in Japan by swimming into the path of local fishermen in protest (and then forming the shape of a whale on Bondi Beach).
Well, now it seems that – like Hayden Panettiere before her – there is a Japanese warrant out for Lucas’ arrest.
Just don’t expect it to furrow her pretty little free-spirited brow – this crazy bitch is a whale-loving hard ass!
But a defiant Lucas, who led anti-whaling protests on Bondi Beach last Friday, said the warrants would only “embolden those risking their lives to halt the killings”.
“I’m not scared in the least about going back there (to Japan),” she said yesterday. “In fact, now I think it would draw even more attention to the barbaric act.”
And just to clarify there, “the barbaric act” is not the act of travelling to Japan, but rather the killing of whales and dolphins.
Really, Isabel, this is how PR nightmares begin; didn’t Alf teach you anything? More »
Free-Spirited Isabel Lucas Cries For The Whales
10:32AM Clem Bastow | Isabel Lucas, formerly Home & Away’s resident hippie, Tasha, has told of her tears at witnessing the slaughter of whales while in Japan on a conservationist mission.
Since leaving “The Bay”, Lucas has devoted much of her time to environmental campaigning, and was in Japan to capture video footage of the cull.
(Incidentally, Lucas seems to shed tears at the drop of a hat; we once spotted her crying about her pasta bake at Thresherman’s Bakery in Carlton, and there were no whales in sight.)
This is all endlessly admirable but we couldn’t help stifling a laugh when we reached this part of the story:
Today , Lucas will lead another protest at Bondi Beach and attempt to create the world’s largest human humpback whale using bodies on the sand.
The current record was set by 2500 school children in Los Angeles in May this year.
Look, we pay our Greenpeace donations and listen to ‘The Songs Of The Dolphins’ as much as the next free-spirited cheesecloth-wearer, but really.
Don’t these people realise it’s stuff like pretending to be a giant humpback whale made of children that leaves them open to ridicule by the Matt Stones and Trey Parkers of the world?
Don’t nuke our imagination, braaaa! More »
