Small Screen
11:39AM Jess McGuire | Even though I don’t particularly miss Big Brother, occasionally I do find myself thinking back to the glory days of the show, particularly Gretel Killeen’s insane costume choices and enthusiasm for alliteration. Her last attempt to return to the small screen didn’t exactly garner her rave reviews, but hopefully her appearance on The Morning Show next week will win back the hearts of the viewing public. 9:27AM Jess McGuire | Been missing Naomi Robson’s presence on the small screen? Dude, me too! Thankfully, it appears Naomi will be back in the spotlight sooner rather than later, with the former Today Tonight host mysteriously informing the Daily Telegraph “All I can say is I’m working on something I’m developing”. Fantastic! So she’s either heading to a television near you, or she’s taken up photography. Good to know. Source More »
Naomi Robson Unleashes The Power Within; Sticks Fingers Up Nose To Do So
10:11AM Clem Bastow | Former Today Tonight host and lizard fan Naomi Robson has been prepping for upcoming meetings with Channel Seven bosses not by rejigging her CV or polishing up her public speaking skills, but rather by attending an Anthony Robbins seminar.
As you do, of course!
The out-of-work presenter, whose credits include rescuing “cannibal” orphans and wearing lizards on her shoulders, spent four days “unleashing the power within” at an Anthony Robbins motivation seminar at the Sydney Entertainment Centre before her talks with Ten bosses on Monday afternoon.
Robson enjoyed all the hand-clapping from her $4000-a-head “Diamond” seat, with onlookers saying she was “moaning and groaning” and “screaming and crying” as Robbins encouraged the group to experience pleasure and pain.
Apparently that involved sticking one’s fingers up one’s nose and striding across hot coals.
No word as to whether Robson responded to all this by turning slowly to face whoever was watching and saying, “Mmm… I won’t be doing that again in a hurry; Naomi Robson with that report” while everyone backed away. More » Winners Of The Fuglies Announced!
5:24PM Jess McGuire | Describing themselves as “an alternative to the Logies for people who wanted to vote for the worst of what has been on TV in categories that TV Week magazine keep forgetting to add to the Logies voting form”, The Fuglies have encouraged heckling of the Australian entertainment industry and kept office workers amused since 2002, and for that we salute them.
It’s been a competitive year but the votes for the 2007 awards have been counted and the results released today. Big winners were Gretel Killeen (Worst Female TV Personality), Kyle Sandilands (Worst Male TV Personality) and Naomi Robson (her “tribute” to Steve Irwin grabbing the coveted Fugly for Worst Incident Of The Year) but there were plenty of others who walked away with a prize.
