12:06PM Jess McGuire | Wanna watch our Prime Minister get grilled by Chris Bath, Mike Munro, and some unhappy working families – and then cop an earful from Kochie regarding money matters during these tough economic times? Of course you do.
Reports MediaWeek:
Prime Minister Kevin Rudd will come face-to-face with some of those hit hardest by the recession on a special edition of this week’s Sunday Night on Seven. Hosts Chris Bath and Mike Munro will bring together a group of the nation’s leaders and senior financial advisors to provide the key to getting families through the tough times. Rudd will be answering questions from Australians in studio directly affected by the crisis while Sunrise’s David Koch will have his top five tips on saving money.
I’d watch it because it sounds both gripping and educational, but I’m afraid I’ll be busy jamming rusty nails into my ears. JUST KIDDING. I’ll be spending the long weekend swanning about Golden Plains and feeling concerned about the weather/tent situation. It’s my birthday on Saturday, buy me a drink if we see each other.

Mike Munro Is Hoping Everyone Forgets He Ever Hosted ‘A Current Affair’
3:19PM Jess McGuire | More Seven Versus Nine news, with Mike Munro confirmed as the host of the marvellously titled new current affairs show which’ll be screened on Sunday nights called Sunday Night.
Mike Munro hopes to return to top quality investigative current affairs on television after joining Channel 7 during the week.
Wait a second, Herald Sun – are you insinuating that the years Mike spent hosting A Current Affair were not spent working in the world of top quality investigative current affairs? But… but… this makes no sense! The show was called A Current Affair, for god’s sake! What else could it have been about? Dole bludgers, supermarket secrets, and dangerous bras of the world? I refuse to believe it. I mean, I also refuse to tune in to ever find out for myself, but I’m gonna give Mike Munro the benefit of the doubt.
Let’s learn more about Sunday Night. More » Mike Munro Quits Channel Nine: “I’m Not Leaving Because Things Have Turned To Shit… But The Last Five Years Have Been Pretty Shit.”
10:06AM Jess McGuire | Oh noes! One of Channel Nine’s biggest names, news and current affairs guru Mike Munro, has boned himself! The handsome devil, who has appeared on 60 Minutes, A Current Affair, This Is Your Life, and Missing Persons Unit amongst other programs, informed CEO David Gyngell of his intentions yesterday afternoon.
Munro exclusively told The Daily Telegraph that he was taking early retirement after seeing out five tumultuous years at the former number one network.
“I’m feeling pretty good right now,” said the now weekend newsreader and host of This Is Your Life and Missing Persons Unit.
“I leave the place on a day to day level, but that’s tempered by the fact I love Channel 9 as much as David Gyngell does. It has been been a really hard slog for the past five years, but the network is now in a fantastic position and morale is up.”
Morale is up, post-Sunday/Nightline axing and talk of adopting the beleaguered Big Brother program? For shame, Mike. Don’t be telling us fibs. More »
