Melissa George Is Having Some Memory Issues

4:02PM Jess McGuire | How Melissa George manages to remember her lines while appearing in Hollywood productions is beyond me, because she’s clearly slipping up in the brain department. She claims she recently forgot her Home & Away character’s name! I find that hard to believe. If I can remember it – and the band playing when she met Shane, and the way she walked down the aisle, and what she named the baby, and EVERYTHING ELSE – then I can’t see why she’s unable to recall the reason she’s famous in the first place. Gaywashed ‘Grey’s’ Now Ready To Fire Anyone Who’s Ever Watched ‘Girls Gone Wild’

8:20AM Kyle Buchanan | The gaywashing continues! Today brings news of Grey’s Anatomy’s umpteenth gay-related downsizing. Watch out, actors: Gay in real life? Marginalised. Gay on the show? Fired. Listened to an Indigo Girls song once? Decapitated on-screen, surely!

Melissa George Forces Former McLeod’s Daughters Star To Abandon Her Blonde Locks

1:45PM Jess McGuire | Melissa George has gone head to head (or should I say hair to hair?) on the set of a new movie with Rachael Carpani, who Channel Nine viewers would lovingly recall portrayed one of McLeod’s thirty seven daughters on the popular program “back in the day”. The result? Melissa George won (Alias + Grey’s Anatomy > Telstra’s Next G advertising campaign) and poor ol’ Rachael was forced to embrace her inner ginger. The blonde leading the blonde is not a sentiment favoured by Melissa George, who reportedly demanded her co-star Rachael Carpani dye her “do” dark so she was the only fair-haired beauty on the set of their new flick. Sources from behind the scenes of Christopher Smith’s new thriller Triangle, which was filmed on the Gold Coast earlier this year, said George requested the McLeod’s Daughters favourite – who was known for her goldilock tresses – dye her curls a vibrant red. For real? Personally I reckon you’d get more blonde bang for your buck by letting Rachael hold onto her normal hair colour, and instead arranging the already “ginge-esque” Melissa George embrace her inner fiery red-headed vixen. It’s not the first time such a “hair war” has happened, either! More »

Melissa George Is Perfectly Okay With Her Latest Lady Loving Role

9:40AM Jess McGuire | It seems like just yesterday Angel was capturing the eye of Shane for the first time while Frente played at the Surf Club, but in actual fact it’s been about three hundred years and Melissa George has come a long way since her break out role on Home & Away. She’s joined the cast of Grey’s Anatomy where she’ll be portraying a bi-sexual hospital type who catches the eye of Callie, and Melissa has informed reporters she’s totally cool with “going there” with another actress. And why wouldn’t she be? It’s not the first time. The former Home And Away star plays a bisexual surgical intern, Sadie, the potential love interest for lesbian medic Callie Torres. More »

News.com.au Celebrate Melissa George’s Career Renaissance With A Golden Gaytime

12:10PM Clem Bastow | Melissa George has long since joined the ranks of Aussies who’ve taken the twilight of their local soap career overseas and cashed in big time (fellow clubmembers: Isla Fisher, Julian McMahon, Kimberly Davies, Tammin Sursok – the list is actually rather long), so noting that she’s about to – potentially – nab a key role in Grey’s Anatomy almost feels pointless. But, it seems she could be brushing past McFlurry (or whoever) sooner rather than later: But the one-time Summer Bay resident isn’t shaping up as McDreamy’s latest love interest – instead playing an intern who has a liaison with one of the series’ established female characters, The Daily Telegraph reports. George is believed to be in the midst of final negotiations to sign on the dotted line for the Emmy and Golden Globe-winning program, which revolves around Dr Meredith Grey – played by Ellen Pompeo – and the team at Seattle Grace Hospital in Washington. This is all well and good, but what I’d like to draw your attention to is the remarkably mature way in which news.com.au handled this piece of news: More »

Well, This Seems Unnecessarily Catty

7:45AM Jess McGuire |   Oh wait, hang on – there’s a reason for it. Aussie actress Melissa George shocked her audience as she stepped out on a catwalk today, looking old beyond her years with a face full of wrinkles. Fortunately for the celebrity ambassador of Napoleon Perdis cosmetics, the 31-year-old’s aged appearance came courtesy of some clever prosthetic make-up and a head of grey hair. George took on the appearance of a 65-year-old woman for the launch of BT Financial’s BT Super for Life in Sydney, to help people imagine themselves in 30 years’ time. Sorry to have ever doubted your good and kind soul, brisbanetimes.com.au. Next time we will have faith in you, swears. More »
