Gretel Killeen Returning To The Small Screen

11:39AM Jess McGuire | Even though I don’t particularly miss Big Brother, occasionally I do find myself thinking back to the glory days of the show, particularly Gretel Killeen’s insane costume choices and enthusiasm for alliteration. Her last attempt to return to the small screen didn’t exactly garner her rave reviews, but hopefully her appearance on The Morning Show next week will win back the hearts of the viewing public. Could James Mathison Replace Kyle Sandilands On Idol?

1:41PM Jess McGuire | It seems like former Australian Idol host James Mathison is the frontrunner to become the new judge on Australian Idol in the wake of Kyle Sandilands’ sacking. Well, that’s according to Sportingbet Australia. Check out the list of contenders they came up with! More »

Interesting Kate Ceberano Fact!

12:31PM Jess McGuire | This one isn’t from Wikipedia, but rather a tidbit sent in by a showbiz journalist type, so we are absolutely certain it’s true because proper journalists don’t make stuff up, ever. Did you know… … that Aus-Sci Kate Ceberano has a pet Chihuahua gifted to her by Kirsty Alley? And that her grandmother was a governess for Ron L Hubbard? (Disclaimer: I only know these things cuz I had to interview Kate, not cuz I’m a batty fan of hers). I had no idea about the Chihuahua, but I was aware of the governess business. And there you have it. More »

Cop A Load Of These Celebrity Tatas – All In The Name Of Art, Maaaan!

10:42AM Clem Bastow | Australian artist David Bromley has unveiled his latest collection of portraits, a faintly naive jumble of sketchy nudes – posed for by Kate Ceberano, Cheyenne Tozzi, and Megan Gale, among other less interesting, non-A-list bosoms. And even though the paintings “retail” for around $16,000 (we’ve really got to get into this art jaunt! Check out these amazing portraits of Mel and Kochie that we did with a Sharpie and a packet of Cheese & Onion Pringles! That’ll be $25,000, thanks! Oh, sorry…), those kind folks over at News Ltd have hosted them all for you to feast your eyes on. Leap over the jump to gorge on Australia’s favourite Scientologist’s arty (and probably NSFW, unless you work at the Norman Lindsay Memorial Breast Examination Clinic) nungas. More »

Darren Hayes Should Hold Off On Getting A Quickie Divorce – Anthony Callea Has Been Spotted “About Town” With A New Fellow!

8:50AM Jess McGuire | Only yesterday we were positively frothing at the mouth at the idea of Anthony Callea potentially falling for Darren Hayes should the pair ever stop quietly admiring each other and get on with the task of recording a duet (hey, it worked for Delta and The Potato, didn’t it?) but it seems we may have been too hasty. National Bingo Night host Tim Campbell is said to be helping the pop prince get over his break-up, with the two lads seen hitting the town this week. After we reported their stroll around the Tan together on Monday night, a spy revealed the pair were at South Yarra bar the Botanical on Saturday night. It’s believed the two became friends last month in WA, where they were both performing in the stage musical Rent. Campbell has since moved to Anthony’s hometown of Melbourne to play the lead role of Australian rocker Johnny O’Keefe in Shout. Callea’s manager yesterday maintained his star and the former Home and Away regular were friends. “To suggest Anthony and Tim are anything more than colleagues is totally untrue,” Wayne Pilkington said. WE WILL CERTAINLY BE KEEPING AN EYE ON THIS, ANTHONY! Especially since you spent a good couple of years claiming to be a vagina hunter. But you wouldn’t lie to us now, surely? More »

Kate Ceberano Hates No-Case-Gains, Er, Gossip Magazines

9:39AM Clem Bastow | Singer and scientologist Kate Ceberano has hit out at gossip magazines, claiming they make their stories up. What? Next they’ll be saying we’re all refugees from an alien wasteland and there’s a bomb inside the volcano! Incidentally, these are pretty rich words coming from someone who regularly appears in the ladies’ mags, particularly when there’s an album or television appearance to flog. “Their stories are fabricated and complete lies,” Ceberano ranted at Spirited Women’s breakfast held by online publication SW Magazine at the Hilton Hotel. “They buy a lot of their stories and Iknow a lot of the people these magazines write about. But what appears is simply not true.” The popular performer, who won the last series of Dancing with the Stars, said she has limited her involvement with women’s titles over the years because she had been badly burned by a past experience. “I haven’t worked with them because I simply don’t trust them,” Ceberano told the the breakfast crowd. When prompted, the singer admitted to being the victim of their “lies” many years ago when, after losing a large amount of weight one magazine reported it was because of her “smack (heroin) addiction”. Well, at least she gave these ‘Spirited Women’ a “spirited” talk, eh? We’ll certainly be keeping a close eye on Women’s Day et al to see if the next promotional interview Ceberano gives is full of lies and fabrications. More »

Insider Footage From The TV Week Logie Awards

2:21PM Jess McGuire | Turns out Defamer Australia had an operative working at the TV Week Logie Awards, gathering secret footage via the magic of a mobile phone video recorder, AND WE DIDN’T EVEN REALISE. Well, to be fair, we never asked Red Symons to collect such blurry nuggets of behind-the-scenes gold for us, but thank god he did. Well done, sir. Featuring cameo appearances from Larry Emdur, Grant Denyer, Jennifer Hawkins, and Kate Ceberano’s cans, we couldn’t be more pleased with the clip, as it shows us – in a total Being John Malkovich sort of way – just what it’s like to experience the wonder of the TV Week Logie Awards from the perspective of a guest. Kate Ceberano Wins Celebrity Talent Show, Promptly Signs Up To Another To Reinforce The Important Message That Operating Thetans (Level IV) Can Do Anything!

12:42PM Jess McGuire | A hearty congratulations must go out to Kate Ceberano who won last night’s finale of Dancing With The Stars, competing against Triple M radio personality Fifi Box. Oh wait. This Sydney Confidential article – and god knows, if we can’t believe in what the kids at Sydney Confidential have to say, there’s simply no one for us to place our trust in as we make our way through this mixed up, dang crazy world – would suggest we shouldn’t be celebrating Ceberano’s victory. We’re so confused! Our Fifi was robbed. The adopted Sydneysider was the judges’ favourite on the night, but Triple M’s Fifi Box had victory snatched from her by singer Kate Ceberano in the season finale of Dancing With The Stars. Down-to-earth Box, who performed a spirited freestyle dance to a Michael Jackson medley, had Ceberano’s measure, scoring 114 points to Ceberano’s 113, as voted by the DWTS judges. We’ll tell you something for nothing – there’s simply no phrase on this earth that gets us more excited and razzed than “down-to-earth box”. Later Ceberano said she thought the win miraculous, especially considering the groundswell of support behind Box. “I can’t explain it,” Ceberano said. WE CAN, KATE! YOU PWNED THE THETANS WOT WAS LIVING IN YER DANCIN’ SHOES! WE ARE SO INSPIRED BY THIS MOMENTOUS OCCASION, WE WANT TO HAVE A FREE INTELLIGENCE TEST/SEND MONEY IMMEDIATELY. But she will have little time to savour her victory as she will line up next week on Seven’s It Takes Two, which fills the DWTS timeslot. And that right there, folks, is a hugely inspirational example of one celeb’s dedication to the righteous cause of relatively cheap Channel Seven programming. Of course, the only thing Defamer Australia wants to know is… when are we going to see some of Kate’s delightful brother Phil “Antonia” Ceberano on the telly? Last we heard, he was perfecting his ripped body with Guy Leech in between rocking out with his cock out shirt off. SEND US SOME LOVE, PHIL! CEBERANO FACT #1! Kate and Phil are third generation Scientologists! CEBERANO FACT #2! Phil has not one, not two, but three MySpace Music sites! Trentwood, Phil Ceberano’s High School Band and Phil Ceberano Music! PHEW! THERE’S NO SUCH THING AS TOO MUCH PHIL FOR US! More »
