Since Nicole Richie confirmed the worst kept secret in La La Land on Tuesday night, canny hacks here in Oz have done some counting and discovered that said baby may have been conceived in Sydney.

The reality TV star and gal-pal of Paris Hilton has confirmed she is almost four months pregnant, spilling the beans on prime-time TV to US news veteran, Diane Sawyer.

That would put the time of conception about the time she was in downtown Sydney for the MTV Australia Music Awards with her rock man Joel Madden

Between sound checks and trips to Taronga Zoo, the couple must have found time for some monkey business of their own in the luxury suite they shared at Sydney's Hilton Hotel.

Well, you don't say. A young couple having sex in a luxury hotel suite? Who'd have thought!!! But not every 'roll in the hay' results in a pregnancy, which leads us to assume either a) Sydney's Hilton Hotel room service doesn't provide condoms, b) Nicole Richie forgot to account for the time difference when taking the pill, or c) Joel Madden couldn't be bothered pulling out in time.

Congratulations to Nicole Richie and The One From Good Charlotte Who Isn't With Sophie Monk aka Joel Madden on news that the pair are about to become parents for the first time.

Nicole Richie is officially pregnant with her Good Charlotte boyfriend of six months Joel Madden. TMZ says: "(We've) confirmed through several sources that she is, in fact, with child. In Touch magazine is also reporting that the couple will wed this summer."
