Good Charlotte Confused As To Why They’ve Never Been Asked To Play At The Big Day Out
1:58PM Jess McGuire | Newly single Benji Madden recently talked to New Zealand’s Sunday Times about the fact his band Good Charlotte have never been asked to join the Big Day Out tour.
“The guy who runs Big Day Out doesn’t like us for some reason I don’t even know why,” Benji told Sunday News.
“We do all the other festivals and we enquired about it. Who knows maybe he’ll eventually crack, but maybe not. We’re just going to keep knocking on his door late at night saying, `Come on dude!”‘

In a statement to US Magazine, the couple’s publicist wrote: “As Nicole Richie and Joel Madden anticipate the birth of their first child, a rep for Madden’s rocker brother, Benji, confirms that, despite reports of a split, his romance is still going strong.
“In response to recent rumors that the couple had broken up, Good Charlotte’s rep tells Us: “Benji Madden and Sophie Monk are together and very happy.”

Sydney spies report that brothers Benji and Joel Madden – who are both famously spoken for by Sophie Monk and Nicole Richie respectively – invited Brisbane’s own twin rockers The Veronicas to their dressing room before the show.
The former Wavell Heights girls were later seen leaving their room and Lisa Origliasso was overhead saying to her sister Jess, “I can’t believe he just hit on you”.
Confidential reckon it was Benji, since his fiancee Sophie Monk was outta town, flying back to the US to negotiate a deal.

Benji (engaged to Our Sophie Monk) and Joel (Nicole Richie’s babydaddy) Madden apparently impressed the local celeb chasers by acting all, well, normal at Sydney Airport.
Benji Madden and his leggy babe Monk looked the rock star part but certainly weren’t playing it when they arrived in Sydney early yesterday.
Not only was there no entourage travelling with the pair, there was no- one to greet them or even drive them to their hotel. If it wasn’t for her bright red mini dress and sensational pins, actress Monk could have been any other attractive blonde Aussie girl as she patiently joined the queue at the Avis car rental counter.
