Right After Alice Burdeu Finishes Shooting This Mega-Bucks Campaign, She’ll Turn Her Attention To Defamer Australia

Australia’s Next Top Model Actually On Her Way To Being Top Model; World In Shock

9:17AM Clem Bastow | Looks as though Alice Burdeu is the first winner of the Next Top Model franchise (both Australian and internationally) to really be proving she was a deserving winner – to wit, she looks set to actually become just that, a top model! No doubt the contestants in the upcoming fourth cycle of AusNTM are feeling the bar set just a little too high for them. She has already shot a Vogue Australia cover, and the Napoleon Perdis campaign, not to mention a successful few months modelling in Singapore – now she is installed in New York City, where she (and her agency, Elite) had hoped she’d book a couple of Fashion Week gigs. Well, she got more than a few – including Marc Jacobs, Proenza Schouler and Marchesa – and the fashion world has sat up and taken notice. Alice has been featured on the front page of Style.com (Vogue’s online incarnation), is still New York Magazine’s front page Fashion Week image (walking for Marc Jacobs), and – most excitingly (though it may not so much as raise an eyebrow in those who don’t follow the fashion world obsessively) touted as a Top 10 Newcomer on Models.com, which has rightly been described as “the NASDAQ of modelling”. Former MDC newcomers include current mega models Agyness Deyn and Coco Rocha – so to say they know how to pick the stars would be an understatement. Go Alice! ‘So You Think You Can Dance Australia’ Round Up

10:42AM Clem Bastow | Since we’re still in the midst of SYTYCDAus audition phase, which is really just filler and a chance to make a cuppa before the good stuff starts, we’ll hold off on our new weekly round-up series for a little longer. (We will say at this stage that we are happy that the show looks as slick as its US parent and that we were oddly not yet overcome with the desire to have Natalie Bassingthwaighte tarred and feathered – everybody wins!) HOWEVER, to get you in the mood, we can tell you that Defamer Australia’s Melbourne connections have (stage) whispered to us that one of the members of the Top 20 is a very brilliant young Melbourne man who is, quite simply, one of the most scintillating dancers we’ve ever had the pleasure to clap eyes on. To whet your whistle, here is some shonky footage of one Miss Regime Dettol (in the green two-piece), who – shall we say – is a very close friend of our young dancer, in much the same way Dame Edna likes to hang out with Barry Humphries and Vanessa Wagner enjoys a tea with Tobin Saunders, i.e. rarely within the same room as one another. SO it is quite possible that the Australian franchise of our favourite show ever will, in fact, not suck massive horse cock and instead looks set to be quite marvellous! More »
