Angie Harts YouTube Clip Of The Day

Australian Post Posted by Jess McGuire at 9:12 AM on July 11, 2008

ARGH!

Technical difficulties have prevented me from popping this promised audio up in a sweet mini-player sort of way - along with large dollops of conversation which we will hold onto for when Angie Hart misbehaves in a ridiculously public way and we feel that random chit chat about vegetables and drunkenness will deliver us the all important "hits" - but bugger it, let's allow you to download in a terribly primitive manner an mp3 of Angie Hart instructing you PERSONALLY how to win tickets to her East Coast shows with Dave McCormack.

Right click and save as

Marvel as Angie pretends to love the YouTube Clip Of The Day feature, and practice your fingering skills (so to speak) when she is railroaded into agreeing to let eager punters holding a recorder join her onstage at shows to play along to Labour Of Love!

After some highly impressive clip submitting, Marcus has won two tickets to tonight's Melbourne show, while Marnie is the lucky winner of tickets to the Sydney gig on Thursday night at The Vanguard, but the rest of the shows are still up for grabs. Do what you must.

Angie Hart: "I Feel A Little Tricked And Betrayed"

Australian Post Posted by Jess McGuire at 12:58 PM on July 9, 2008

angiedave.jpgBloody hell. Yesterday I promised you exclusive audio goodness, but I can't get the stupid audio clip thingos to work, and my head hurts, so there's gonna be a slight delay, I'm afraid. However, because I wanted to give you something to read, I have lovingly transcribed the conversation I had with Angie Hart yesterday on the cutting edge topic "Neighbours versus Home & Away". It is daft, and you can read it all after the jump.

And if you'd like to win tickets to any of the East Coast Dave McCormack (ex Custard)/ Angie Hart (ex Frente) shows, just send a funny video link - anything you like - to tips at defamer.com.au, and mention which show you'd like to win a double pass for. That's it!

Brace Yourselves: The Ticket Giveaway For The Angie Hart and Dave McCormack East Coast Tour Will Be Happening Tomorrow!

Australian Post Posted by Jess McGuire at 3:04 PM on July 8, 2008

angiedave.jpgSo I vaguely hinted last week (and by "hinted", I obviously mean "hit you over the head with a large block of wood with the words 'ANGIE HART AND DAVE MCCORMACK ARE GOING ON TOUR AND WE HAVE TICKETS TO GIVE AWAY SOON' carved into it") that we had something special to offer the beloved readers of Defamer Australia this week which was somehow connected to the lead singers of Frente and Custard, and by jingoes, we'll be following through on our promise of free passes to the shows.

However, I prefer to bundle these giveaways up with something resembling an interesting online experience, and this booty of gig goodness is no exception.

Thus, I am happy to inform you that I managed to locate my infamous special journalist hunting gear once more, and soon I will be popping online an EXTREMELY EXCLUSIVE (ie: slightly idiotic) interview with Angie Hart - in AUDIO FORM. Yes! Recorded this morning, you can listen to your editor playfully insult Australia's favourite songbird! Hear the amazing asides and dumb jokes that should have been edited out for the sake of both our reputations, but weren't! Because I'm lazy and quite dreadful when it comes to using editing software!

I do need to clean it up a little though, so it won't be up until tomorrow (around midday). Accompanying it will be instructions on how you can win a double pass to a show near you over the next fortnight. And next week - no promises, but I can only try - I'll attempt to get Dave and Angie to do a little something special just for the viewing pleasure of Defamer Australia readers.

"PORNO?" - You

Oh, behave.

"OMG AND WHERE WILL THE SHOWS BE HELD, ANYWAY? MAYBE I WANT TO BUY A TICKET JUST IN CASE I DON'T WIN ONE!" - You

You're a switched on cat, and I respect that.

After the jump, a helpful guide to the tour (and some phone numbers if you'd like to order yerself a couple of tickets).

"BUT WAIT - CAN YOU TELL US ANYTHING ABOUT YOUR BRILLIANT AND PENETRATING (LOL) INTERVIEW WITH ANGIE HART IN ADVANCE?" - You

Okay. IF you have a recorder, and IF you can play the solo in Labour of Love, then Angie has agreed to welcome you on stage at the shows to play along with her and her handsome guitarist Sam Agostino. Top that!

"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" - You

Dude, I know.

Now jump and check out the tour schedule, for fucks sake.

YouTube Clip Of The Day

Australian Post Posted by Jess McGuire at 4:48 PM on July 2, 2008

Ahhh, 1981 in Australia... a blissful, innocent time. A period where a man could compliment a woman's legs without fear of reprimand, and when ladies flashed their knickers with impressive regularity.

To celebrate, let's watch the following advertisement from "back in the day".

Awesome.

Today's YouTube Clip Of The Day was submitted by Tim C in response to our Sime Nugent gig competition yesterday. As a reward, Tim will find himself on the door (plus one) at Friday night's festivities at The East Brunswick Club.

East Coast living Defamer Australia readers should stay tuned, as we have tickets to give away for what should be an awesome July tour featuring two beloved Australian artists. Let's just say if you're a fan of Custard and/or Frente, and have a healthy admiration for the lead singer of each band's solo works too, then you'll be WELL PLEASED with what we have to offer you next week.

Angie Hart On The Morning Show Yesterday

Australian Post Posted by Jess McGuire at 4:18 PM on February 19, 2008

This is a nice clip of Angie Hart performing 'Stop Buying Things' on The Morning Show yesterday.

Isn't it lovely? And look at Facebook hater/Mitch Hedberg lover Dan Luscombe gently but powerfully work that guitar! Phwoaaar - ladies form an orderly queue, etc...

We are, of course, deeply disappointed Angie lied to the good people of Channel Seven by claiming she hadn't performed Accidently Kelly Street for anyone in yeeeaaars when our Serious Journalism revealed late last year that she belted out an a capella version for a small child in Adelaide during her October tour (and whatever happened to that "only for people under the age of eight" rule, anyway? THE HOSTS OF THE MORNING SHOW ARE QUITE OBVIOUSLY OVER THE AGE OF EIGHT, WOMAN, WHY DO YOU FIB?) but all in all, this is a charming performance and we give everyone involved three thumbs up.

Defamer Australia versus Angie Hart | Win Tickets To The Melbourne Shows!

Australian Post Posted by Jess McGuire at 11:34 AM on October 18, 2007

Hurrah! Turns out we were the highest bidder in the Ebay auction of the "special journalist gear" we mentioned yesterday, so this morning we went hunting and captured one Angela Ruth Hart. Once she regained consciousness, we sat her down and asked her some very hard hitting questions. We can smell the Walkley from here.

After the jump, our interview with Angie Hart - plus a chance for Melbourne readers to win tickets to her live show!

More Thoughts On The New Kylie Song '2 Hearts'

Australian Post Posted by Jess McGuire at 5:12 PM on October 17, 2007

So it's been roughly twenty-four hours since we posted the new Kylie video for the song '2 Hearts'. In this massive amount of time, we've managed to listen to the single a further, oh, THREE HUNDRED AND SEVENTY EIGHT TIMES on our iPod, and we are completely and utterly obsessed by it. It is a swaggering, Goldfrapp-esque hot bitch of a song, and we cannot get enough.

Relive it, please, and make sure your opinion is the same as ours or else. Remember, society fears and abuses people who do not conform. Moreover, we fear and abuse people who do not conform to Defamer Australia's personal beliefs. It must be something we learned from the past eleven years of Government or something.

Defamer Australia reader Dave B commented yesterday "So if catchy & rhyming don't matter anymore, can we just say 'ho' and leave out the 'hum'; already outta my head, sorry to Kyles/the gays/etc" but he is VERY WRONG, as much as we love him. Trust us.

angiehaaaart.jpgIn other music news, tomorrow we will be giving away SOMETHING related to Angie Hart. Melbourne readers should take note. Which pretty much means it'll involve tickets to something in Melbourne. Perhaps a concert? Perhaps... TWO CONCERTS? Erm, we think we pretty much spelt it out there but whatever. Prepare yourselves.

There may also be an interview with the woman herself depending on whether or not our bid for a vial of tranquiliser and a dart gun on Ebay works out or not. If so, we will definitely discuss the Kylie single with her, and we probably won't talk about Kelly Street. Or maybe we will. YOU'LL JUST HAVE TO REFRESH WILDLY FROM AROUND 11AM AND HOPE FOR THE BEST, WON'T YOU?

Last Night's RRR Radiothon!

Australian Post Posted by Jess McGuire at 12:11 PM on August 16, 2007

What an amazing evening of music, and we say that with some degree of objectivity. No, really!

We had a stack of pre-recorded genius from wonderful artists who generously donated their time to lay down "tracks" of cover songs - and they were fucking awesome!

The atrociously handsome Dan Kelly not only did the world's best John Butler impression for a station id (we're trying to get the audio up here as we speak, stay tuned...) but he also performed a stunning and utterly unexpected rendition of Rod Stewart's "Maggie May"!

Patrick J Bourke* of Dallas Crane fame offered up a version of Cyndi Lauper's "Time After Time", iconic Australian music figure Stephen Cummings gave us Jason Donovan's "Too Many Broken Hearts", Lisa Mitchell from last year's Australian Idol performed a lovely cover of "What I Like About You", and SPOD worked some magic on Beyonce's "Check On It". Dave Graney and Clare Moore got their smooth on in the name of community radio with "Hard Times", Melbourne's own The Basics gave us an exclusive live recording of "Ebony and Ivory", and Little Red moved us all with their a cappella interpretation of "Heal The World".

But that wasn't where it ended! We also had a host of surprise LIVE performers! The Good Intentions belted out Chumbawamba's "Tubthumpin", Ground Components - WITH A PIANO ACCORDION, FOR FUCKS!! - played Dallas Groundies' grandpa's song "Louis the Rat" and inspired a massive singalong, the ridiculously talented Sime Nugent crooned "The Greatest Love Of All", and a supergroup consisting of members from Good Intentions, Eurobeat 3, The Drones, Ground Components - as well as Sime Nugent and Angie Hart - all contributed to a gorgeous take on Dire Straits' "Walk Of Life".

AND JUST WHEN YOU THOUGHT YOUR HEAD WAS GOING TO EXPLODE?

Angie Hart and Dan Luscombe from The Drones did a last minute duet of "Islands In The Stream".

All in all, a marvellous show. Thank you to all who subscribed to RRR during I'd Rather Jack, and if you didn't? Do it now! On what motherfucking station will you see a line up like that delivering the goods with nothing to gain except perhaps access to a free slab of beer?

rrr.org.au is the station, but if you're not Melbourne based, then we heartily recommend you support your own local community radio station any time of the year... It's where the magic happens, people.

Here's A Beautiful Video Clip For You To Watch

Australian Post Posted by Jess McGuire at 7:41 PM on August 9, 2007

It's for the new Angie Hart single Cold Heart Killer and as our UK correspondent Will so aptly put it when he saw snaps from the shoot, "It's the gayest thing she's ever done! Feathers! Dancing! Sparkles!"

Which means it is excellent.

We are going to attempt to leave countless threatening MySpazz messages in broken English on her page until we can force her to grant Defamer Australia an idiotic interview, but this may take a while. In the meantime, go request the song on JJJ as per these handy instructions. Thank you.
