Interesting Pieces Of Trivia Acquired From Wikipedia II

Australian Post Posted by Jess McGuire at 1:58 PM on May 16, 2008

stephenbaldwin.jpgRemember when we did this back in early March? Good times! So let's turn to the People's Encyclopedia once more and learn something new, eh?

Today's subject of interest is Stephen Baldwin - specifically, his religious conversion.

Baldwin gave his life to Christ, "becoming a Christian" shortly after the September 11 attacks. Since converting, he has sought to evangelize young people through projects such as The Breakthrough Ministry which involves skateboarding and extreme sports, Christian rock concerts, laser light shows and fireworks. He talks frequently about his conversion experience, which involved a middle-aged Brazilian housekeeper.

Oh, of course. Of course your conversion to Christianity involved a middle-aged Brazilian housekeeper, Stephen. No, no - don't give me any more details. I am fairly sure I can draw my own conclusions about what happened because hey, it's pretty cliched, you know? The ol' middle-aged Brazilian housekeeper converts C-grade Hollywood actor to Christianity after devastating terrorist attacks tale. Oldest story in the book.

Sadly, no further information regarding the middle-aged Brazilian housekeeper appears on the Wikipedia entry, but rest assured I am Googling my bot-bot off and I WILL update you when I learn more... more about Stephen Baldwin's conversion experience at the hands of a middle-aged Brazilian housekeeper after the 9/11 attacks. Yes.

Now, let's go listen to Creed or some shit!

Wikipedia Educates Once Again

Perhaps it's the insanity inducing lack of sleep, or a strange side effect of the crippling fear brought on by the realisation there are some things you just can't control (<--- THIS MAY BE RELEVANT IN A WEEK AND A BIT, DO REMEMBER I WARNED YOU), but the Wikipedia entry for Big Brother 2003, specifically the Where Are They Now section, managed to muster up a few crazed giggles from yours truly.

Leah

Leah was known for being one of the louder housemates, which caused her nomination and then eviction. She currently spends her life on an internet forum.

Carlo

Bathed in the outdoors laundry trough.

That's pretty much those two summed up completely then. Which forum is Leah on, I wonder? Also, which one was Leah? How quickly we forget. I remember Carlo because he was a tool and jammed dishwashing aids into his foreskin for larks, but Leah? Totally drawing a blank.

Interesting Pieces Of Trivia Acquired From Wikipedia

brianmcfadden.jpgWikipedia is excellent. When it's not being used as a sweet place for its founder to pick up ladies , it's a veritable hotbed of interesting information - some of it true!

And so it is with great pleasure we launch what we hope will be an ongoing series (though in all likelihood, it probably won't be - we are easily distracted and... hey! Look over there! Shiny thing sparkling in the sun!) - Interesting Pieces Of Trivia Acquired From Wikipedia!

To kick things off, here's some stuff we didn't know about the future Mr Delta Goodrem, ex-Westlife member Brian "Bryan" McFadden, courtesy of his Wikipedia entry.

· He worked as a security guard in McDonalds and as a bingo caller before finding fame with Westlife!
· McFadden performed with Westlife as Bryan because it made signing autographs easier for him!
· He is a passionate Collingwood Magpies supporter in the AFL, and said "I know I might risk sales by saying this in Australia, but I am a passionate Collingwood supporter and, yes, surprisingly I still have all my teeth"!
· He plays for an Australian Rules side in Sydney's Castle Hill!

And there you have it.
