The BeeGees – “You Win Again”

READERS! God, I miss you. I am in the middle of my journey home to you as we speak, typing away in Kuala Lumpur and counting down the hours until my flight to Melbourne. I cannot wait to get back to our “normal broadcasting schedule” from Monday onwards.

Anyway, I just wanted to pop on here and give you the heads up on a song I am now COMPLETELY OBSESSED with. And given that I just described this post as a “heads up”, it’ll come as no surprise to regular readers that this tune is over twenty years old. I don’t pretend to be cutting edge, and if you’re not one of those people who want to punch me int he face, then you’ll probably find this a rather endearing trait.

Oh god, I think ‘You Win Again’ by Bee Gees might be my new favourite song – that chorus just slays me!

I am going to play You Win Again SO FUCKING LOUDLY when I DJ at Falls Festival. And I hope Falls Festival organisers don’t read Twitter.

The BeeGees talk dirty – “I’m gonna hit you from all sides/Lay your fortress open wide/Nobody stops this body from taking you”

Spent the whole trip home on the Tube listening to You Win Again repeatedly & imagining performing it as a duet w/Luke Steele at the ARIAs.

I also envision the use of costumes, a “secret choir”, excessive bagpipes, hydraulic lifts, and a marching band with many drummers

It’ll be the “Tusk” video clip meets Labyrinth. My main concern is how I’m going to pay for the amount of cocaine required to pull this off.

As you can see, if you like nothing better than keeping track of an idiot woman’s obsession with the BeeGees then it’s definitely worth following me on Twitter.
