Music Videos That Have Not Aged Particularly Well At All (A Potentially Ongoing Series)
Over the weekend Channel V played the music video for Joanne/BZ’s 1998 hit Jackie and I remember thinking “Wow, this video is particularly horrendous, even when one considers the fact it was made over ten years ago with a budget of approximately $5″.
It genuinely looks as though Joanne and her friends handed over a few dollars to a pimply teenage employee of Australia’s Wonderland, who in turn gave them four minutes to gyrate in front of a blue screen and various props, then transfered the footage to VHS so they could take it home and show it to their family and friends for a laugh, but somehow – by complete accident – it ended up being the official video clip for a surprisingly successful Australian pop tune.
I truly believe this video clip is so dreadful, it has gone the full circle and is in fact incredibly awesome.

Everyone knows that the greatest Aussie music video of all time of Collette’s ‘Ring My Bell’.
And if you are a male who was or approaching adolescence in the late 80’s then you agree with me.
I’m baffled by the “Audio Enhanced” bit… if it was, it wouldn’t have any sound.
