Looking to hit up a Channel Seven celebrity for a loan? Forget begging Larry Emdur or Andrew O’Keefe for monetary scraps – newsreader Sharyn Ghidella is the new Moneybags McGillicuddy around town these days.

Reports the Courier-Mail:

Seven News weekend newsreader Sharyn Ghidella has inked one of the richest TV deals in Australia, pocketing close to $600,000 a year to stay with the channel.

I’m sure we’re all agreed that $600,000 is a rather tasty paycheck indeed. Is Sharyn worth the money? To be honest, I don’t remember ever having an opinion on how she reads the news, but I can’t shake the feeling I quite like her. Probably because when you say her name really fast, it sounds like a kind of super delicious cheese. Mmmmm, cheese. And who doesn’t like cheese?
