Miike Snow – ‘Animal’

Oh, I am so excited about the musical group I’m about to ramble on and on about. Would you like to listen to my new favourite band? They’re called Miike Snow, and they’re incredible.

I stumbled across these guys on Jools Holland’s show this week, and they just blew my mind with their live rendition of their song ‘Animal’. I quickly became obsessed with them and tried to get my hands on everything they’ve ever produced.

Miike Snow is a collaboration between New York musician Andrew Wyatt, and two delightful Swedes named Christian Karlsson and Pontus Winnberg. You might know them better as Bloodshy & Avant – the people who wrote Britney Spears’ stunning Toxic. As far as I’m concerned, this band is the perfect combination of clever indie rock and exquisite pop.

It’s like someone put Fleet Foxes, Prince, and Phoenix in a blender and produced a delicious musical smoothie. I cannot get enough of them!

When I get back on the Triple R airwaves, I am going to flog Miike Snow like no one’s business. Ready your ears, people of Melbourne/canny types who like to stream great radio on the internet!
