John Vanderslice – “Promising Actress”

Reader Daniel sent me a link to the following song, saying “This is John Vanderslice re-telling the story of Mullholland Drive in a 4 minute pop song. The original version was on his album Cellar Door. Pretty much sending it because it’s a really good song. (not his absolute best, which for my money is Trance Manual off his unfuckwithable album Pixel Revolt)”

While I wouldn’t call myself a John Vanderslice expert or anything, I’ve played some of his songs on my show and liked them very much, and Daniel’s description of the song was rather intriguing. So I had a listen to the track ‘Promising Actress’ and enjoyed it very much. Have a listen, why don’t you?
