Hayley Lewis Is The New Host Of ‘The Biggest Loser’

After months of speculation, the nation now knows exactly who will be muttering lines like “This could change the way the game is played… forever” to contestants on The Biggest Loser. It’s not Magda, it’s not Alison… it’s Hayley Lewis! Erm, really?

Apparently Hayley’s muscular legs during her time as a sporting champion mean she totally “gets” the pain most Biggest Loser contestants go through.

Reports the Herald Sun:

While her competitors were focused on winning, a 15-year-old Lewis was wrecked with anxiety and embarrassment every time she stepped out in front of the world in her swimmers after a magazine described her as an abnormal athlete with chunky legs.

t was a low blow for the teenager, who won five gold medals at the 1990 Commonwealth Games, and was the beginning of Lewis’s weight struggles as she turned to food for comfort.

Reading the handwritten memoirs the now 35-year-old mother of two doesn’t know how she made it through, but hopes her story will inspire the contestants of popular weight-loss reality program, The Biggest Loser, when she takes over as host.

Hmm… it’s not quite the same as being morbidly obese though, is it? Still, Hayley did have to ditch pregnancy weight too!

Gaining 25 kilograms while pregnant with her first son Jacob in 1998, Lewis says her wake up call came when weight-loss company Jenny Craig rang her to become an ambassador.

“When I got the phone call going ‘Do you want to be part of Jenny Craig?’ I realised how overweight I was,” she says.

Oh. My. God. How traumatic would that be? I’m quite serious. The idea of Jenny Craig ringing you up out of the blue and informing you that you’d be the perfect face for their new campaign is horrifying. Makes me glad I have a private number, there’s no way my self esteem could cope with a phone call like that. Hayley Lewis, I’ve changed my mind — you’ve earned your place on The Biggest Loser.

That said…I really wish Alison Braun had landed the gig. She’s a former contestant who has actually been incredibly overweight and turned her life around completely. She’s so likeable, I’d be willing to forgive her every time she said the words, “It’s time to cut the fat.”

I was hoping Alison would get the host job also,a very likable character. Although good luck to Hayley. Got to say in her swimming days, I always noticed her strong face more than any chub on her body, she always looked pretty toned to me. I think, with all those years of training behind her, she will bring something fresh to “loser”. I’m looking forward to it.
