Who Sues Wins: Tania Zaetta Settles Lawsuit Against Daily Telegraph
In August last year I declared that I wanted Tania Zaetta to emerge victorious from her lawsuit against the Daily Telegraph, the newspaper who incorrectly implied that her attempts to improve the morale of Australian troops in Afghanistan had been horizontal in nature, simply so I could use the rubbish phrase “Who Sues Wins” in a post title. Oh, happy day!
Says The Age:
Television and movie personality Tania Zaetta has settled a lawsuit against the publisher of The Daily Telegraph newspaper over a report that the Defence Department was investigating claims she had sex with troops in Afghanistan.
Defence officials apologised to Zaetta after the story was published in May last year, saying there was no substance to the claim and her name should not have been made public. Zaetta has denied the allegation and said the Telegraph implied she had sex with several soldiers and consented to being videotaped and photographed having sex.
The report had injured Zaetta’s credit, reputation and occupation and brought her into “public scandal, odium and contempt”, her statement of claim in the Supreme Court said. Today, she reached a settlement with the publisher, Nationwide News, and told reporters outside the court that she was happy the matter had been finalised.
So there you have it. We’re all agreed that Tania Zaetta did not try to cheer up troops using her vagina, and now this fine young lady can return to her successful Bollywood career with her head held high.
