Only Real Ads For Fake Awards
That ridic WWF 9/11 spec ad that raised such a ruckus last week actually won an award from the One Club, don’t forget. So now the One Club is banning all “fake ads” from their awards show. Wise. [Agency Spy]

Would it not be wiser for the One Club to review their internal processes so that they can stop giving awards to offensive ads, real or not? They need to take responsibility for their own actions instead of blaming it on being punked.
@Claire Buoyant: Yeah, but it's a subjective industry. One person's offensive ad is another's award-winner. In fact, shocking/risky ads tend to be the ones that get all the attention which is why you'll never see a milquetoast "fake ad." It tends to be the stuff clients would never approve for mass consumption so industry peers can say, "Damn, can't believe they got away with producing that!" It's like children playing with poop.
