Kerri-Anne Kennerley Facing A Pay Cut!
For god’s sake, Channel Nine! I realise you’re trying to tighten your belt a little, but making some of your biggest stars suffer just because you’ve invested too much money in ridiculous shows hosted by Jules Lund hardly seems fair. Kerri-Anne Kennerley has done nothing but consistently deliver the KAK-tastic goods, and yet she’s facing a pay cut? This is a farce!
Reports the Herald Sun:
Kerri-Kennerley will be the first of Channel 9’s stars to front the network’s razor gang as it tries to claw back $20 million. Kennerley will soon be offered a significant reduction on her $500,000-plus contract, which expires on October 1.
When stars like Kerri-Anne aren’t safe from the global financial crisis, we should all start feeling a little more terrified.
And she’s not the only one from Channel Nine who is going to be suffering from a shortage of funds.
High-earners who signed their contracts in better times include Tracy Grimshaw ($700,000), Liz Hayes ($600,000) and Catriona Rowntree, Scott Cam and Tara Brown (all $500,000-plus). News presenter Mark Ferguson recently defected to Seven after being asked to take a hefty pay cut. Other high-earners to leave in recent years include Ray Martin, Jana Wendt and Jamie Durie.
It won’t surprise you to learn who Channel Nine considers to be cheap workhorses.
Nine’s new stars – Jules Lund, Natalie Gruzlewski and Shelley Craft – are on significantly less money while working on three or four shows at the same time.
Gracious, I really hope the economy sorts itself out soon, if only so I don’t have to keep getting angry at the people on my television scream for being offensively inoffensive.

I’m sure Danoz direct can take up the short-fall.
You can’t tell me Channel 9 pays a single cent for that show going to air. I mean, they don’t even have to stump for Geoff Harvey’s mini-bar bill anymore.
