It’s Official: Jimmy Barnes Is Better Than The Beatles
If the ARIA charts are any indication of music quality (and god knows they must be, given the Black Eyed Peas amazing spate of number hits), then we can safely assume that the gravelly voiced rocker’s latest album is better than anything the Beatles ever produced.
Reports SMH:
In something of an upset, veteran rocker Jimmy Barnes has outsold all of the Beatles re-released and remastered albums to maintain top spot on this week’s ARIA albums chart for the second consecutive week.
Barnes, whose album The Rhythm and The Blues has given him his 31st career week atop the chart, outsold the combined might of all of the Fab Four’s much-publicised remastered albums by more than 2000 sales.
Barnes sold 10,353 units, compared to the Beatles’ 8000.
The top-selling Beatles album of the remasters series was the seminal White Album, which sold 1399 copies and landed at No. 39 on the chart. Abbey Road sold 1312 units (No. 42) and Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club sold 1214 units (No. 44).
Well done, Jimmy! It’s no secret I’m rather partial to a bit of Barnesy from time to time.

That cuts deep McGuire, real deep.

I might be wrong, but I don’t think the Beatles were on sale for the full week.
Jimmy Barnes is bigger than Jesus.
The charts are compiled from Friday to Friday and The Beatles Remasters came out on Wednesday (except for Melbourne where the hit the shops on Thursday afternoon). So The Beatles total sales were calculated on ONE DAY’S SALES. Plus they’re sold out almost everywhere AND there’s a month long waiting list for the stereo box set. Barnsey is definitely living on borrowed time.
