Do You Have A Question For @m8er?

Alright folks. Earlier in the week I received an email from @m8er’s people asking if, as @m8er’s “biggest critic” (am I? Really? Surely I’m no different to anyone else with a pair of working ears?), I’d be interested in interviewing the wonderfully talented cross between Pink and Lily Allen.

I’ll give you a moment to recover from the idea that Universal are actually seriously attempting to market this song as the bastard love child of Pink and Lily Allen’s back catalogues.

I really wasn’t sure what to do, you know? Contrary to what you might think, I much prefer writing about things I feel enthusiastic toward rather than things I dislike. I also couldn’t help but feel that @m8er was kinda hoping for a war of words a la Short Stack for publicity reasons, especially when she directed this message to me on Twitter.

Seems she Tweets about as well as she writes hardcore rap.

But after much discussion with friends and associates, I’ve decided that perhaps I will take her up on her offer. I’m lining up a phone interview with her publicist as we speak, and I look forward to asking her the tough questions – perhaps the most pressing of all being why did Universal pay shitloads for her to work with folks who have helped the likes of Madonna, Prodigy, Girls Aloud, Gwen Stefani, Sugababes and Pink produce hits, and yet only give her a budget of $3.70 for her video clip?

What would you ask her if you had the opportunity? And am I doing the right thing? God, I’m terrified “Kill That Bitch” will actually hit number one.

FUN @M8ER FACT! Dan from The Drones asked me on Facebook “Is the pronunciation of her name At-mate-er?” YES, IT IS DAN! YES IT IS!

PS: I’m sure @m8er is a very nice person in real life etc etc etc but FUCK ME IN THE EAR WITH A CARVING KNIFE – her song is fucking awful and makes Short Stack look like a trio of Bob Dylans, and any radio station who playlists it should be sent directly into the fiery pits of hell.
