John Krasinski And Emily Blunt – Engaged!

Normally I am quite happy to break out the bubbly at the first rumour of impending nuptials (sorry, Miranda and Orlando), but today I can actually legitimately cheer on a couple whose engagement has been officially announced by their “people”. Congratulations, John Krasinski and Emily Blunt!

John Krasinski and Emily Blunt will soon be husband and wife. The Office star, 29, and actress, 26, who have been dating since November 2008, are engaged, his rep confirms to PEOPLE. “We can confirm that John and Emily are engaged,” says the rep.

Lovely! I approve of these two as a couple (something I’m sure John and Emily will undoubtedly be relieved to hear – “Oh, some chick in Australia we’ve never heard of thinks we make a decent pair! Thank the lord, the wedding can proceed!”). And I like John’s description of what he looks for in a woman.

“It’s not about celebrity or not,” Krasinski told Glamour in August 2007 about what he looks for in a woman. “It’s all about, do you have that ‘girl in a cardigan’ in you. You gotta have that.”

Clearly Emily Blunt delivers the cardigan goods.
