Go And See Holidays On Ice, Please
I meant to do an interview with the extremely wonderful and exquisitely bearded Dean Manning from Holidays On Ice this week, but sporadic internet access and “life, maaaaaan” got in the way – and for that, I will be eternally sorry and begging Dean’s forgiveness. That said, there’s no reason why I can’t tell you a little bit about Holidays On Ice just in time for some of their shows around town, now is there?
HERE ARE THE FACTS.
- Holidays On Ice is made of love, sweet melodies, Dean Manning, and Angie Hart.
- Dean Manning was in Leonardo’s Bride.
- Angie Hart went public about her hatred of mayonnaise here on Defamer Australia.
- Dean has developed some fairly impressive facial hair since you saw him last. Sometimes I find myself so hypnotised by it, it’s usually four days after a Holidays On Ice gig that I start to recall jumping up on stage and pretending to be a chicken during the show. And I’ve also given up smoking.
Enough of the silly buggers though – Dean and Angie are amazing songwriters, and it is well worth going to see a Holidays On Ice show. If you are in Melbourne, Brisbane, or Sydney, this is a quest that you can totally fulfil!
HOLIDAYS ON ICE TOUR DATES!
Melbourne @ The Wesley Anne in Northcote
Thursday August 27th (ie: TONIGHT!) 2009Brisbane @ The Troubadour in Fortitude Valley
Wednesday September 2nd 2009Sydney @ Artisan Guild & Curiosity Shop in Darlinghurst
Friday 4th September 2009
I can’t think of a more blissful way of spending an evening.
And here’s your final incentive – look, a photo of Holidays On Ice on a netball court!

And anyone who doesn’t like bands who like netball courts is UNAUSTRALIAN in my patriotic/idiotic eyes.

Comments
is that in any way linked to the David Sedaris book?
