Chris Martin Not Afraid To Tell Natalie Imbruglia Her Songs Are Crap

It’s important for famous types to have solid friends who are willing to be brutally honest with them when it comes to the quality of their “art”, so it’s lucky for Natalie Imbruglia that she’s still buddies with Coldplay frontman Chris Martin – dude ain’t afraid of getting raw like sushi, know what I mean?

Says the Daily Telegraph:

The 34-year-old Australian singer has admitted that collaborating with the Coldplay frontman was difficult because of his directness.

“When I worked with Chris Martin he was very honest and brutal with me,” Imbruglia told NME. “He helped me with my tracklisting and we got rid of riff-raff. Sometimes we agreed, sometimes we disagreed. The hard bit is him saying which songs he doesn’t like, but it’s refreshing to have someone of that calibre with you. So yes – I had a semi-nervous breakdown.”

I’m sure Chris was a big help. Pity he wasn’t around for the “what happened to the bubbles of love we made” era, but you can’t have it all.
