Which Actor Brothers Secretly Hate Each Other?
Just one lone item today, about two actor brothers who are are in a secret, nasty career feud.
1) “These two brothers are both successful actors. However, one has always had more success than the other, as well as the financial rewards that come with that. While they act chummy when you catch them together in front of the cameras, behind the scenes, resentment has been boiling. When one brother found out the other was auditioning for a role he really wanted himself, he arranged a fake emergency so the brother wouldn’t be able to make it to the audition on time, and showed up in his place.” [BlindGossip]

@AEchinoderm: heheh <3
@MissTicklebritches: Luke and Owen Wilson arent actually related...
@Bob Wiley: Can't see the Quaids going after the same role.
deltasierra
The Gyllenhaals?
AEchinoderm
@Nickyboy is now the bass player for VH. Suck it, Wolfie!!: No, too late.
AEchinoderm
@misslinda: Actor brothers...
AEchinoderm
@Jsmoke: I rather believe this than the Wilson brothers, I think they're more likely to want the same roles. I've barely seen Charlie since The Sliders
@GoEliGo????: During the college years? I just remember the younger Savage brother as the lead.
Jerry and Charlie O'Connell
@deleteboy: The gap between Alec and the other three is and has always been so large that I don't think they can be considered an option. Even if you take Alec out of the equation, the lesser ones are so different in type that I doubt they'd be out for the same roles.
jerusalemcricket
John Wilkes and Edwin Booth
D Day
@Tattertotter:
Great one hahahaha!
Artpunk
@GreatOdensRaven: Matthew Lawrence, who was on Boy Meets World and in The Hot Chick.
I'm very sad that I know that.
If not for the "both successful" part, I would have said Alec and Stephen Baldwin, hands down.
badass-boi
Bill and Brian Murray? Are they making another Caddyshack?
dirtyperty
Stewie and Chris.
Martiniman
Damon & Marlon Wayans. Or Damon & Shawn. Or Damon & Keenan.
SW-2
Johnny Drama & Vinny Chase, of course.
the Affleck brothers..
rustylinc
@seattleperson: Not necessarily. It just said it was a role one brother wanted... not that the less successful one pulled it.
@Helennellieforsythe: Owen and Luke....Owen is the more famous/$uccessful. Ben cast Casey as the lead in Gone Baby Gone which Ben directed.
N.Bells
@MissTicklebritches: This was my thought too. I think Owen's had far more success, not to mention all the media attention after the suicide attempt.
@stew: definitely - especially the part about arranging emergencies.
Tommy and Dick Smothers?
moochia
The Olsons
radrider82
Does Abe Vigoda have a brother?
@PicklePants: Oooh, this gets my vote.
limber
@saya: hmm...isn't Owen the more successful brother? That would mean that Luke is the one who pulled the stunt.
seattleperson
Jon & Martha Stewart - wait...Martha's not a man? my bad.
BoonsFarmersDaughter
Brian Doyle Murray and Steve Zissou.
Solid.
J. Frank Parnell
Definitely the Wilsons. Owen strikes me to be petty like that. I always liked Luke better...too bad he just doesn't land as many movies (I'm so glad Wes Anderson is in love with him!)
saya
Ashley and Jessica Simpson
jrhys
Hmmm - which Baldwin bros.? Or is the gap too large between (among?) each of them?
Two of the Baldwins.
TopherMcGillacuddy
Any of the aforementioned sibsters still audition? How about Rob & Nate Corddry?
@nickyboy:
But if I could be serious for a minute, Jim Belushi is a national treasure, who deserves all the success in the world. According to Jim? More like According to Awesome!
Nickyboy is now the bass player for VH. Suck it, Wolfie!!
So the "fake emergency" was that suicide attempt?
Cuba and Omar Gooding?
Donnie and Mark Wahlberg?
Joey Lawrence and whatever the hell his brothers' names were?
If this were 3 years ago, I would've guessed Sean and Chris Penn.
It has to be the Belushi brothers. I hear John is dying for a good role.
What? Too soon?
Nickyboy is now the bass player for VH. Suck it, Wolfie!!
Gotta be Dirk and Dack Rambo . . .
Tattertotter
@naugahydeinplainsight: You've been watching a little too much Entourage...
Those Bacon Brothers need to grow the fuck up.
Cecil's Wielder
Frank and Sylvester Stallone?
The Real Life with Zack and Cody.
rudi_freude
@naugahydeinplainsight: Good one. I bet that's it.
John C. Reilly and his lesser-known brother Chauncey Reilly...
I hate to think it's true but my bet is definitely Luke and Owen Wilson.
How 'bout Rob and Chad Lowe?
gossipgrowl
@PicklePants: I used to love them! Where have they been hiding?
There's always Kevin and Matt Dillon.
Randy and Dennis Quaid? Eddie and Charlie Murphy?
@PicklePants: Which one is more successful? I can't really tell them apart.
geniusscientist
Not the Bridges...
Rumpelstilskin
Jason and Jeremy London?
PicklePants
@MissTicklebritches: But they seem to enjoy roughly the same level of success. And Ben and Casey Affleck don't really seem to pursue the same kinds of roles, though maybe that's just because Casey rarely seems to get big ones?
Satyrica
@misslinda: That was my thought to, but I don't think they would choose to work together like they have if it was them. I'm thinking Luke and Owen Wilson are a safer bet. They seem to go for similar roles.
Duh: The Carradines.
@DahlELama: What, I'm a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here! does not constitute success?
doodlebug
Charlie Sheen & Emilio Estevez?
Jeff and Beau Bridges? (Yes, I am old)
Nah, sounds like the Wilson boys.
Well, "both successful" negates any Baldwin option, so I guess that just leaves the brothers Wilson...
DahlELama
Does starring in the "Mighty Ducks" series qualify as "successful"?
Ben and Casey Affleck?
Has to be Luke and Owen Wilson.
Groucho and the ever conniving Harpo Marx.
Randy and Tito. (Too soon?)
