personally i think that short stack are a fucking awesome band possibly the BEST to hit australia…
to be perfectly honest i didnt like them when one of my best friends was raving about them but when i got listening i came to my senses…
i dont care if u dont like them. but instead of talking ABSOLUTE RUBBISH about short stack. go get a job and stop using tax payers money! ur 28! u dont need a fucking pension!

Compare ‘Sway Sway Baby’ (the “best song ever”) to a song like, hm, ‘Babe I’m gonna leave you’ by Led Zeppelin.

It really doesn’t surpise me that you are a fan of Short Stack; your violent, misspelled rant illuminates the degree of brain damage (either hereditary or acquired) required to be a fan of this group of feckless shunts. Short Stack. Everything that’s wrong with contemporary youth culture. A direct result of the “relaxed and comfortable” decade during which tweens were brought up. Don’t question anything, just lull along with the crowd until, aged 40, you find yourself finally questioning the horridly vapid emptiness of your existence. Compare Short Stack (or any other youth-oriented rock band of the moment: Metro Station, Good Charlotte, The Fray etc) to the class of artist that appealed to earlier generations (Jeff Buckley, Kurt Cobain, Nick Cave, Morrisey, Joy Division, Led Zeppelin, Neil Young, John Lennon), and you will see that, in less than a decade, profuse decadence has become the hallmark of teenagehood. The aforementioned artists engaged in a rigorous critique of contemporary culture – they said a big “fuck you” to everything corporate. They resisted every attempt by the market to assimilate them. Short Stack are a corporation, and, given the interviews I’ve seen, are quite proud to admit it.
One may object that there have always been horrifically over-adulated garbage-sounding shitheads making music. It would be interesting to see what difference in popularity (purely based on sales) there now is between an Australian rock artist with integrity (say British India), and a band of vacuous half-wits like Short Stack, as compared to some time in the past.

i’m late on this, i know, but jesus christ, i love you hahahaha.
this is so great. i’m fifteen and cannot comprehend the level of obsession many people my age have with this band. it’s awful. i feel like giving them all mix CD’s of good songs or something, but they’d probably smash them up.
i’ve had the misfortune of seeing this band live twice, as support acts for the actual bands i paid to see. their songs all sounded the same live (this was in 2007, before they ‘blew up’) and they just struck me as awkward teenagers with strange lyrics and too many feminine products in their possession.
my favourite comment on here probably has to be ‘they r so good like u could do any better’ – i wasn’t aware jess was in a mediocre ‘indie/rock/thrash’ band?
