Short Stack’s Appearance On Rove
I was watching the end of Rove on Sunday night and managed to catch the performance of rock wunderkinds Short Stack. As I am a 28 year old woman, I was totally unfamiliar with their work, but I am told by reliable sources that the band is hugely popular with teenage girls.
Obviously teenage girls in this country have developed a taste for high energy pop-rock performed by boys with ridiculous hair, but since I chose Donny from New Kids On The Block as my number one hearthrob back when I was knee high to a grasshopper, I’m probably not in much of a position to judge.
Here is the band playing a song, the lyrics of which were nearly indecipherable as far as my ancient ears are concerned. It sounds to me as though important vowels and consonants are suspiciously missing from much of what the lead singer is belting out, but as my wondrous pal Fluffy quipped “They probably wrote the song via SMS” so fair enough.
They look like pretty young girls who borrowed wigs from the set of Designing Women. As far as the tune itself goes, my favourite bit is 3.12 – “KeeyoobaahfrensowweekenbetogethaUH!”. POWERFUL! Although why the Daily Telegraph/Herald Sun haven’t mustered up a story about Sway Sway Baby’s violent lyrics and the horrific potential the track has to inspire murder amongst tweens is beyond me.
But ignore my issues and buy their “Indie / Rock / Thrash” album (hilariously titled “Stack Is The New Black”) if you want to! I am clearly a pensioner with no taste.
PS: The comment from a girl called Mad Hatter on their MySpace page made me laugh out loud – “I think I am the only teenage girl in Australia who hates you.” HAHAHAHA FEEDBACK WIN!

short stack are appealing to people in the ages to 12-16 so i dont see how someone who is 28, and probs enjoys the dixie chicks would have any authority on whether short stack is a good band or not. Shaun had a throat infection so his voice was a little off, but the comment about the chicks and wigs thing is ridiculous. Maybe next time you should get someone to do a review that would be in the right age group and not someone who likes to sit down for a good jam to Mandy Moore. Short Stack is a band that includes 3 v ery talented Men and its quite obvious that someone at the age of 28 wouldnt see that.
Well 28 she maybe but my friends all seem to fit in that age bracket and only a few like short stack. and i mean like 5% of my many friends.
short stack have good music have alot of fans and are mighty fine. their young and have talent! and their hair is hot :)there really nice boys too whe you meet them :)
is just proves how old and crap u are, they are awsome and can sing and shuan the lead signer had a sore throat and had been sick and had also just done a 3 hour concet, i was at both the show n rove and it was much betta at rove than how it came out on the tv!!! u have no taste and they are god dam good looking!!! and i would be careful what you say!, the lead signer has read this n posted it on his twitter and your going to have some angrey fans tracking you down and killing you so watch your back old lady!!!
This is a general reply to the masses of illiterate teenage girls on here:
1) Pay attention when your teacher is talking to you in school. They are trying to give you an education, and this includes using the English language as us humans like to most times;
2) It is an opinion piece. A strange concept I know, but when you grow up into women, you will one day develop your very own, independently arrived-at thought. As you are obviously not there yet, spend the time practicing until that day arrives;
3) You will look back in 3 years when this band have come and gone, and ask yourself how it was you were so lame as to listen to a band like this. We all did it as kids, and its your turn now.

Why pick on them for they are the best band i have heard in a very long time yeah shaun the lead singer might not have sounded great only beacause he a throat infection and i think he sung pritty well for someone with a throat infection.

omg Shaun had a throat infection, he was sick and still sick the next day, I would know cause I was at the Wodonga instore and Shaun tried to get Andy to sing the songs, but Andy would’nt, you could barely hear him, cause his throat was that bad, as for the lyrics, I could sing you the whole song without music, their that easy to understand.

there a millions of rap song on the radio with way worse language then that! Its not going around telling us to shoot people and by the likes of it your suggesting were stupid enough to do that. There lyrics are actually really good if you had taken the time to listen instead of hearing what you want to hear. they are come of the nicest people in the music industry!
Stick to your new kids on the block and dont go commenting on teenagers music unless your our age…in other words, young.

If the lead singer was sick and doing such an allegedly heavy workload he’s obviously not planning on a lasting career because with either an infected throat or laryngitus singers can seriously mess up their voice/vocal cords. Let the tweenyboppers look at the “pretty” boys for as long as their voice lasts.
I’ve never heard of them; but I don’t think they’ll be around too long, so I won’t bother looking them up.
I’m a teenage Australian girl and I think they’re fucking terrible. They write nonsense lyrics and have hilariously hideous hair.

Short Stack are obviously very talented since they have many dedicated fans. What you need to do is get a life. If you don’t like something, you should leave it alone not go and write things about it. People who write things about people they ‘hate’ obviously like them deep inside. Why else would you waste time on something that you ‘hate’?
