Right, Is Anyone Actually Sober At Channel Nine These Days?

Honest to god. Do the brains at Channel Nine really think giving Clare “Chk Chk Boom” Werbeloff her own show is going to result in fantastic ratings?

Jesus wept.

Chk Chk Boom girl Clare Werbeloff has landed herself a role with Channel 9. The 19-year-old “bogan” who rose to fame after she created a fictional account of a Kings Cross shooting for a TV news crew and becoming an overnight sensation on YouTube will appear on a new show with the working title of Scammers.

But on second thoughts, maybe you should ignore my skepticism. I recall thinking at the beginning of the year that a nightly cooking show would be a recipe for disaster, and I certainly got that wrong.

    The terrible thing is that this kind of undeserved opportunity will encourage a new wave of fame-desperate Gen Y muppets. It was funny at the time but behind a timely white lie, there appears to be no substance behind the pretty face. Actually, when I think about it that makes her an ideal addition to the commercial networks as the majority of their ’stars’ are similarly afflicted.

    Thats another show I will not be watching.
