Former Home & Away “Star” Spills On Sex & Drug Lovin’ Soap Stars

I acknowledge that I’m not a particularly regular viewer of Home & Away, but am I alone at hearing the name Bryan Wiseman and thinking “Who the hell is that?” Apparently he was on the show for five whole years, and he’s just spilled his guts to the Sunday Telegraph about the cast of the show’s penchant for illicit substances and naughty behavior.

In his own words:

I’m surprised the stories of sex, drugs and alcohol abuse haven’t gotten out earlier. Drugs are common. A lot of people do it, apart from the older cast like Ray Meagher (Alf Stewart).

I’m glad Alf behaves himself. The idea of him being a drug pig and/or sex fiend is flamin’ troubling. That said, a friend of mine worked on the show five or six years ago and told me stories about another older cast member (who has since left) who certainly didn’t avoid the temptation of both drugs and Summer Baby groupies.

Anyway, turns out the youthful cast members are doing drugs in the green room! Is nothing sacred?

It’s commonplace in the green rooms. Some of the kids would turn up, they hadn’t been to bed all night, they didn’t know their lines.

I’d like a dollar for every time I’d go in there and an actor would have a script beside them, checking their lines between takes and we’d all have to cover their scenes.

They’d say, ‘I went out last night, had a few snorts, racked up, took some pingers, pills, that sort of stuff.’ It was talked about very, very openly.

And some of them would turn up on the set with it still in their system. Because some hadn’t been to bed, to keep themselves awake they’d do a few more snorts of cocaine to get them through the day.

The mysterious Bryan also piped up about what the Logies are like.

I’ve been to the Logies a few times, and everyone gets trashed. There’s a lot of drugs that goes on there, especially in the toilets.

Then, when actors or celebrities are found in the gutter, nearly comatose, and one of the paps takes a shot, TV networks actually pay a lot of money to take the photos and do away with them to cover it up.

I think that’s why it hasn’t come out until now. If any scandal breaks out, they need to do their best to nip it in the bud. They’re just trying to protect their show.

Good grief! I wonder whether there was such a debauched attitude on the sets of any other television shows Bryan has worked on, particuarly Rafferty’s Rules. That John Wood seems like the kinda guy who knows how to have a good time – well, if you believe the expert testimony of Joan Rivers.

PS: Bryan Wiseman looks like a blonde Reverend Bob from E Street, no?

Hee, hee, he said “checking their lines”; even more hilariously, UK’s The Sun has the headline “It’s “Home and Weyhey”.

Some of the cast might be angry at Bryan for spilling the beans, but by doing so, he may have helped save a life. Good on him!

  • ono Bryan somebody stole your neck and all they left you with was a stupid tattoo!

Seriously, is this news to anyone? wonder how much they had to pay you Bryan?

Was that the same Bryan Wiseman that Stan Zemanek used to get to ring him up and make out he was one of three women (Barbara from Point Piper,Tanya from Sylvania Waters and 80 year old Grace)when the calls to Zemanek’s late night radio got slow?

Yes John, This is the same Bryan Wiseman. I cannot believe this guy still claims he was a star on Home and Away. He was not on it for five years. he had a brief appearance in one episode.
Boy, journalists don’t do their homework. He’s been cracking his neck to be a celebrity for two decades. As for attending the logies, only in his dreams!
