Will.I.Am Responds To Perez Hilton’s Claims Of Assault

What goes on in Toronto usually stays in Toronto, but that fairytale time is ovah now that celebrity blogger Perez Hilton is claiming Will.I.Am from The Black Eyed Peas beat him up after the MuchMusic Awards which were being held in the Canadian city. A celebrity fighting back with fists? Well, I’ll be damned. Will.I.Am has now spoken out about the incident.

MTV reports:

In a series of late-night (or early-morning) Twitter posts, Perez Hilton claimed that he was assaulted by the Black Eyed Peas’ Will.I.Am and his security guards at a hotel in Toronto. At around 3:45 a.m. Monday (June 22), Hilton wrote on his Twitter account that he was “in shock. I need the police ASAP. Please come to the SoHo Metropolitan Hotel now. Please.”

“I was assaulted by Will.I.Am of the Black Eyed Peas and his security guards,” a second Tweet read. “I am bleeding. Please, I need to file a police report. No joke.”

The fact that Perez seems to think police are constantly monitoring his Twitter feed and will respond to requests made via the social media site kinda makes me want to fly to Toronto and punch him myself.

According to Will.I.Am, here’s what happened.

“Tonight was a good night and a crazy night. … I’m DJing at a club called Ultra, and Fergie approaches Perez Hilton and says, ‘Hey, do you have a problem with me?’ and Perez says, ‘No, I just don’t like your record,’ which is cool,” Will.I.Am said in his video. “But he just really disrespects her. He, like, digs in and hurts her feelings. Like, it’s one thing to tell your opinions, and it’s another thing to go overboard and be blatantly rude for no apparent reason. … Fergie then comes to me, very emotional, and it makes me emotional because that’s my sister and that’s a dear friend to me.

“Our party is over with so I go to another afterparty … and then I see the guy. And I go up to him and I say, ‘Hey can you do me a favor Perez? … Can you not be blatantly rude with our group on your Web site?’ ” Will continued. “And he said, ‘I don’t respect you.’ And I’m like, ‘What? OK, if you don’t respect me that’s cool.’… So this dude walks away, I leave and then he says, ‘You know, that was very f—-t of you for coming at me like that.’ … This dude says in front of a whole bunch of people, fans outside, ‘You’re a f—-t, Will.I.Am.’ … So all these fans are like, ‘You gonna let him talk to you like that?’ and I’m like, ‘Yo, it’s cool, dude, that’s just how that dude is.’ So he walks away and one of the fans gets all crazy and they start some stuff with Perez Hilton, and I’m just sitting there just minding my own business waiting for a car and whatnot. But it just goes to show you how crazy things can get.”

Even though the music of the Black Eyed Peas make my heart feel bad, I am totally on Will.I.Am’s side because:

a) A Perez punching is overdue (sad but true)
b) I actually believe Will.I.Am’s version of events
c) Perez requesting the police visit him through his Twitter account is just about the lamest thing I’ve ever seen.

Still, maybe I’m being harsh? I should hear Perez out. Watch this video, why don’t you?

  • The only reason I watched this video all the way through is because I knew Keyboard Cat was coming.

Honestly, Perez Hilton should be locked away in a small room and fed gruel and stale bread for the rest of his life.

Does anyone else get the feeling this may actually be the beginning of the end for Perez? A slow beginning, sure, but the “OH SNAP” moment when he revealed his use of the f-word like it was no big deal was the “OH SNAP” heard across the galaxy.

Whhhhaaaa, I LOVE the Keyboard Cat. He’s so bentupcacking funny he should be Australian. Mr Hilton play a nice straight man (only ever performance) in this gig with Mr Cat.
