Theme Music For The Death Of The Media
This nine-minute heartbreaker titled “Mad Ave Blues,” sung to the tune of “American Pie”, is sure to bring tears to the eyes of every agency creative type, media buyer, and trade reporter who love-hates advertising. Brilliant, and painfully nerdy.
[To the tune of "American Pie"]
Bye, bye those big upfront buys
Pitched my client who was pliant
But the pitch didn’t fly
And old ad boys were drinking martinis dry
Singing “Tech has taken us for a ride”
“Algorithms got me cross-eyed”

starry starry night
paint your pixels blue and gray
look out on a summer's day
with eyes that know the click thru's in the hole
I'm happy to see the media implode. Now, time to go write some C++.
That's it. I'm gonna get a job as a Walmart greeter.
@BadUncle:

Welcome to wal-mart.

Me: bouncing, bouncing, bouncing on my exercise ball as I listen and laugh the entire 9+ minutes of this internet video. For someone who's been in marketing for 20 yrs (after being enamoured with Bewitched's Darren's ad career as a child) I would say this captures perfectly our industry's changes and challenges. With the exception of one thing: fax to files.
