Celebrity Reactions To Michael Jackson’s Death

Amber from Defamer Australia sister site Babble has compiled a nice little list of reactions from Australian celebrities to the news of Michael Jackson’s passing.

For instance, here’s the response from Delta Goodrem (collected from Twitter, naturally)

“He was my biggest inspiration and will forever live on in my heart. I feel so thankful for him sharing his brilliance.”

The King of Twitter*, guitarist and occasional lothario John Mayer, had the following to say about Michael Jackson.

Dazed in the studio. A major strand of our cultural DNA has left us. RIP MJ.

I think we’ll mourn his loss as well as the loss of ourselves as children listening to Thriller on the record player.

I truly hope he is memorialized as the ‘83 moonwalking, MTV owning, mesmerizing, unstoppable, invincible Michael Jackson.

Michael Jackson, like James Brown and Prince, are nearly uncoverable. The tunes were about his innate talent and can’t really be replicated.

Indeed. Let’s leave the last word for Taylor Swift, the pop singer whose hit tune “Love Story” strangely appeals to me for reasons I cannot fathom.

It just doesn’t feel real.. Everyone is walking around backstage saying “Have you heard?”.

I think it’s safe to say we’ve all heard, Taylor.

*Until Ashton Kutcher apologises for the online “love wave” incident, I don’t care for his updates at all.
