As another person who works for the blasted company said in another board, this was staged WITHOUT Eminem's knowledge. Bruno's mic was picking up Em's voice, not a seperate one.
Producers and directors already have seating charts, so it was easy to have Bruno test and stage a landing in the seating area that was assigned to Eminem

@Mixiboi: I have to agree. And it's way too like Eminem to get mortified and storm off than to admit that he and his homies are homophobic and agree to be part of the whole scenario. Also, I don't think he was miked up; his voice wasn't clear enough.

Whether or not this was planned with Eminem changes the whole meaning of it and level of hilarity for me. If it was staged, I vaguely admire MTV for goosing one of its star dipshits. If it wasn't staged, it's just another back-scratching publicity stunt, ho hum. Eminem comes off as lame either way.

@Emily Brilliant: There is no way Eminem was in on it. He doesn't have enough of a sense of humor about himself to agree to it, and he doesn't have the acting ability to fake that reaction.

No way! Eminem is having a genuine hissy fit. He probably agreed to be miked for something for the Bruno bit, but how could any body agree to such an embarrassing display of footstamping?

I think the only person not in on it was Zac Efron. Poor guy, they totally stole his moment, not that it really had any importance. The look on his face is classic awkwardness!!

Fucking awesome! "Feminine" was truly pissed! VERY telling.

This was definitely staged, and props to Sascha and his choreographer for well-choreographed and well-performed wire work. That stuff is not easy and he handled it like a pro.

Wouldn't it have been fun to be on his stunt team during the weeks of rehearsal in that auditorium?

OK, I am gay and I know that Eminem is homophobic, but even I felt sorry for him. Poking fun at people is OK, but this really is over the line. We're much better off taking cues the Jon Stewart than Howard Stern.

That said, Cohen must have some serious guts. I'd be afraid Eminem would panic and start punching things that I find to be important to me. And FWIW, I think Eminem handled it pretty well given his prior behaviors... he just walked away. No punching, and the worst thing he said was what I would have had you dropped, say Oprah on me: "Get this MF off of me." The anger management classes must be working.
