Quick Question Regarding Evermore’s “Hey Boys And Girls”
I’m gonna do that thing I occasionally like to try around these parts and ask your opinion on something. The other night on Rage (I think), I managed to catch the video clip for Evermore’s Hey Boys And Girls (The Truth Of The World Part II). If you haven’t seen it already, here it is.
There you have it.
Now, what I want to know is – am I hideously old and out of touch for preferring them young and fuzzy-haired, singing “It’s Too Late”? Every single song they’ve released since the initial hit has left me feeling increasingly disappointed, even though I cannot quite put my finger on why. I am usually very good at knowing what the public would like (or at least that’s what I try to tell myself) but it seems that the less I like Evermore’s output, the more everyone else adores it.
Don’t get me wrong, I don’t loathe them or anything like that. It just seems to me like they’re trying too hard to become a big stadium rock band and it all feels a bit like watching kids playing dress ups.
Look at how cute they were back in the day!
I mean, I BOUGHT this single! Physically! Went into a shop and handed over money!
What do you think of Hey Boys And Girls (The Truth Of The World Part II)? Is it amazing? Do I need to keep watching it until I find myself indoctrinated?

Well, its no Katy Perry “Hot ‘n’ Cold”
Totally with you Jess. The song/video seem a bit try hard for me, I much preferred back in the old “It’s Too Late” days..
I think they became a little too ambitious after Dreams, but appreciate that they can still deliver a fine clap intro. I really dig their new concept album, even though I feel like I shouldn’t.
It’s the Coldplay effect. Kings of Leon danced around it’s rim with their Only by the Night Album.
They want to be a poppier version of The Presets. Unfortunatley they have been caught up in trying to be an Indie-New Wave band, because that is cool currently, and forgetting what they did best in the process.
i guess if you don’t do some basic research, then yes, it does come across as if they’re trying too hard
people don’t really like change much do they?
