Pssst! In Melbourne And Looking For Something To Do Today?
Did you know that an Australian short film was selected for screening at the Cannes Film Festival? Well, it was – and you can help it get there by attending a screening and art auction this afternoon.
Here are the “deets” on the film CICADA -
The short film CICADA (Director Amiel Courtin-Wilson, Producer Sally Hussey) was recently selected for Director’s Fortnight at the Cannes Film Festival.
The film was totally independently funding and shot in Melbourne and starts the inimitable and charming Daniel P. Jones.
Daniel is a founding member of the Plan B Theatre Company – a theatre company started for ex prison inmates and at age 50 the Cannes Film Festival will be his first overseas trip.
Please come out on Sunday night to support Danny and the beginning of his amazing journey with this powerful short film.
The entire team is from Melbourne and would love the support of the Melbourne artistic community as CICADA is the only Australian short selected for the most prestigious film festival in the world.
Fundraiser will be held on Sunday the 10th of May from 4pm onwards with a screening of Cicada at 7pm at:
Horse Bazaar
397 Little Lonsdale Street
Melbourne 3000
Melway reference (43 G7)
Ph: 03 9670 2329There will also be artworks for sale from a selection of renowned Melbourne Artists and super DJs to keep you thirsty.
Sounds like an arty good time to me. Only Australian short selected for Cannes? You know you should go and support that. Hop to it, Melburnians.
