Phil Spector Sentenced To 19 Years For Murder
Wild-maned music producer Phil Spector has been given the maximum sentence of nineteen years to life for the 2003 murder of actress Lana Clarkson. Spector will be 88 years old before he’s eligible for parole. He also paid $US17,000 for funeral expenses, as per his sentencing. [CNN, image: Getty]

Well, it took a while to METER out justice, but at long last he'll be behind BARS - back to just another MINOR celebrity scandal instead of a MAJOR part of the media's Wall of Sound.
Though, to be fair, he should have gotten life for producing "You've Lost That Lovin' Feeling."

@stew: Stew, his daughter didn't do anything, and it IS terrible for her that her father is a fucking scumbag murderer. That fact doesn't detract from the horror and pain that Lana Clarkson's family and friends are experiencing; why does there need to be a hierarchy of pain?

@Richard Lawson: Um, just so¡s you know, in many countries all over the world, even a life sentence is shortened if the guilty party if over 70. In Spain, no one stays in prison over the age of 75, whatever the crime.
