Listen To Oh Mercy, Please

The other week I received a rather good EP in the mail, so I thought I should tell you about it. It’s called “In The Nude For Love” (already, amazing) and it’s by Melbourne lads Oh Mercy.

This is what Oh Mercy look like – ladies and gays (and people who are “into” goats), take note.

Pleasing on the eye, aren’t they?

But that’s not all. They also write really good songs. Good enough to the point I was actually taken by surprise, and then realised they were still quite young and can only get better from here, and then I began drinking because I felt sad about my own lost youth, and then I woke up in a pool of vomit, and then I put “In The Nude For Love” on and felt instantly better. How’s THAT for the circle of life, eh? In your face, Elton John!

Seriously though, the EP is excellent. You might have heard the songs “Lay Everything On Me” and “Seemed Like A Good Idea” (sadly not a cover of the John Farnham track) on Triple J, but it’s the other demos on the release like “Too Far To Please” and “Needs A Woman” that particularly impressed me. There are a couple of other demos on their MySpazz page worth listening to as well.

Hop to it, Defamer Australia readers.
