Karl Stefanovic Sorry For “Tired And Emotional” Performance On Today Show

karlslapppyYesterday Defamer Australia (thanks to the video uploading mad skills of Crikey) showed you footage of Karl Stefanovic’s post-Logies performance on The Today Show. It was an impressive display of slow talk and trying to stay upright, and I think he actually made a pretty good effort to hide how shitfaced he really was. He failed, of course. But he tried.

However! The People Of Australia™ do not like their celebrity figures to act in a “tired and emotional” way. The People Of Australia™ get very mad and self-righteous when this happens (probably due to surliness caused by a hangover) and expect heartfelt apologies from the guilty parties. Which is why Karl has said sorry, although he refuses to admit he was still drunk from the night before, bless him.

Nine’s Today host Karl Stefanovic has apologised for his bizarre behaviour on the TV show the morning after the Logies. Stefanovic appeared to be intoxicated while on air the Monday morning after the TV awards on Sunday night. This morning just after the 8am (AEST) news break on Today, Stefanovic apologised live on air.

He said he “did not feel drunk” on the morning, but admitted his performance was below par. “When I woke up I did not feel drunk,” Stefanovic said. “If I did I would not have gone on air. I think I’m professional enough to make that decision.”

I believe you, Karl. Millions wouldn’t, but I do.

His co-host Lisa Wilkinson supported Stefanovic, saying: “You were the total professional the whole time.”

Oh great, now Lisa’s drunk!

Karl you were brilliant! If only you could be like that every day. At least you have a pair – better than that bunch of tossers on “brekkie central”. Smiling eunuchs one and all! Go out and get “not drunk” again mate and you will be a ratings winner. I’m a convert to your show now.

Hi, watched the clip few times,
I think he did his best…..
    He was at his best.
Sometimes new “character” developed unexpectedly, to me that’s ok unless he goes beyond the boundaries.
He is a professional TV presenter.

    Thank you.

    Regards,
