The Evolution Of Maroon 5
Sometimes it’s interesting to use the time machine that is YouTube to see just how some of the biggest bands in the world got their start in music, and how they have evolved since the early days of their career. Let’s have a look at AOR favourites Maroon 5!
Back in 1997 when Maroon 5 were known as Kara’s Flowers, they released a song called Soap Disco. I saw it on Rage, and wanted to have Adam Levine’s babies. Here’s a low quality copy of the video clip for Soap Disco.
Then I lost track of them because back in the olden days the internet was only used by dudes with +17 broadswords, and that guy who thinks he’s Peter Pan, so I couldn’t use the magic of the web to Googlestalk the band.
Until… cut to Maroon 5 releasing This Love, and me still wanting to have Adam Levine’s babies.
I know that’s a remix of This Love but it was important you saw Adam in his underwear, and every idiot on YouTube has disabled embedding for the original version (PET HATE) so we’ll take what we can get.
Then Maroon 5 released that song with Kelly Preston in the confusing video clip (I’d pop it online here but oh look! Embedding has been disabled – GOOD ONE UNIVERSAL MUSIC GROUP, FUCKEN THANKS HEAPS!) and my desire to have Adam’s babies lessened dramatically.
And then I heard this on the radio yesterday and my uterus put up an Out Of Order sign.

I remember watching that confusing video over and over in some lame attempt to understand wtf it was supposed to mean. Years later, and I’m still in the dark. I wish that Adam would grow that sexy mane of hair back again – the bald thing ain’t workin’ for ya honey!
