Here’s A Little Bit Of Australian Idol Gossip For You…

Hopefully it won’t be too long before Australian Idol hits our screens and fills the space left by The Biggest Loser, but perhaps you’re the type of person who is missing the talent show so very much that you urgently require some kind of hit from the Idol bong, yeah? The lovely Mez in Melbourne emailed in the following delightful bit of information.

Last night I attended “Massage My Medium” at the Melbourne Comedy Festival, a light-hearted look at the death of television, the rise of the internet, and all the fancy-pants tv executive marketing terms in between. The presenters’ special celebrity guest for the night was Ian ‘Dicko’ Dickson from Australian Idol and Vega Radio, who shared his thoughts on reality television and tv celebrities vs instant internet celebrities.

I digress.

He unashamedly shared the following Idol insights…

a) Marcia Hines swears like a sailor when the cameras are off; has uttered a choice “motherf***er or two in Dicko’s ear. And not always about him – about the contestants!
b) Kyle, Dicko and Marcia had each, on at least one occasion, stolen a product-placement Samsung flat screen television from the Idol studio after shows, in front of bemused security guards and audience members filing out.
c) A producer approached the judges in one of the earlier seasons of the show and gently put to them that they’d been seeing “quite a lot of black faces going through to Sydney” in the audition rounds… any way the panel could “ease up” on that?
