Jeezy-Creezy! Even I know why they stopped speaking!! Tori dumped hubby #1, whom they adores, after a big elaborate wedding paid for by papa, had an affair, home-wrecked, and married hubby #2, and the family were pissed off about it. She thought they were being judgmental when they should have been supportive, and they thought she was behaving like a tramp.

I don't know if anyone remembers though, Tori and Dean were having a romantic vacation in Canada when her dad died and she stayed on vacation until after he died, claiming not to know how ill he was. But the thing was everyo9ne else, myself included knew.

Candy should never put the family's private affairs on blast, but if what's she saying is true, and Tori didn't visit her father in his final year/days, then damn, that's pretty cold (given that they had a good relationship and weren't otherwise estranged).

Why does the cynic in me think they're both prolonging this back-and-forth crap deliberately because they both have books out? It wouldn't surprise me to find out that they DO speak, so that they can arrange the particulars of this "feud."

I would think telling someone's daughter that they are ugly because they look like them ( as she did to Tori-- Tori has said that she was told by her mom: your nose looks like your dad, but we can fix it), would break their heart more.

If Tori had a fucked up relationship with her dad, Candy was a contributing factor, and she needs to take responsibilty for that; instead of being a bitter old woman using her daughter for publicity purposes.

Aww, as much as I hate Candy and think she's insane, I feel really bad for Aaron Spelling and, if it's true that Tori didn't contact him as he got older, I could see how it really DID break his heart. My grandfather passed away less than a year after my grandmother did, he was perfectly healthy while she was alive, but as soon as she died, he really stopped fighting to live and was severely depressed. I could see how something similar would happen with a father and his daughter.
