The best competitive reality show we have on the telly these days (sorry, So You Think You Can Dance) finally wound up last night, and guess who took the title of The Biggest Loser?
Why the lovely and extremely slim Bob!
The oldest-ever contestant on Australia’s version of The Biggest Loser, Bob Herdsman, has shed a record breaking 87.6kg to win the latest series and $200,000 in prize money.
Entering the television reality series competition weighing 167.8kg, the 57-year-old shed more than half his body weight, and is now just 80.2kg.
It’s the most weight a competitor has dropped in four years of the series.
So Bob truly is The Biggest Loser in every sense! Oh, hurrah! In other news, Sharif looked as startlingly handsome as I always knew he would (the second he appeared on the television screen during the first episode, my friend Fluffy and I looked at each other and just went “Oh, damn – he’s gonna look great at the end”), and how about that Julie, eh?
And now – hopefully – we can get a break from those goddamn irritating Burgen ads.

I totally agree – so you think you can dance delivered what proved to be an annoyingly predictable, and largely unsatisfying, conclusion. Blah.
Biggest Loser was far more joyous finale, really.
Unfortunately compared to the rest of the show (I couldn’t help but watch) the Burgen ads were the least irritating part of it. It feels very scripted and staged when they have to interview every contestant to get their point of view on every action they take and every little thing that happens(ad nauseum). Oh and AJ is a robot, but last night she was a robot on speed.
