    @pufflehuff: For real. I read "Never Let Me Go" a few months ago and was profoundly moved. I can't imagine Kiera Knightly being able to do it justice. The main character was such a blank canvas in many ways; I fear that KK will try to "cute" it up like she did in Pride and Prejudice.

    Wow, i thought there was no outfit in the world that would make Keira unsexy.

    I WAS WRONG

    I loved that scene in "Never Let Me Go" where the London hooker picks up a Highlander and they end up at his place and the next morning she steals his clothes and walks back to England. Classic!

    @metalkate:
    One of the best, most moving, and perhaps the most original book I've ever read. After two years or so, I still think about it so often.

    @MissPeacock:
    I know - first I was so excited that there's going to be a film, and then I thought, Kiera Knightly?? Maybe not such a good idea.

    I'm kind of excited about this movie.

    And I don't hate Keira Knightley.

    @meerkat: I agree with everything everyone has said here.

    I just Googled and here's what I could find. It makes me happy that I don't know anyone else in the movie:

    Golden Globe winner Sally Hawkins (Happy-Go-Lucky) has joined Fox Searchlight's adaptation of Kazuo Ishiguro's best-selling novel Never Let Me Go. She will play a teacher at the seemingly idyllic English boarding school attended by Ruth (Keira Knightley), Kathy, (Carey Mulligan), and Tommy (Andrew Garfield). The film, directed by Mark Romanek (One Hour Photo) from a screenplay by Alex Garland (28 Days Later) begins filming in the U.K. today.

    @Phyllis Nefler: NOOOOO not Sally Hawkins! Please don't let her do a Poppy on this... bloody hated Happy-Go-Aaargh-Save-Me-From-Her.... Andrew Garfield is excellent, though, have a google of Red Riding on Channel 4.

    All that wool and the never-should-be-done tights/thick sock/flat shoe combo makes her look rather itchy.

    I hope I won't hate Knightley too much if she destroys it.

    I am so cringing to see what they do to that beautiful book. I cannot imagine it being translated to film. I just can't.

    She reminds me of the awkward, geeky girl who always used to speed walk with her head down while reciting math equations to the lunch line in high school.

    Is it just me or has she been on the sickeningly anorexic train since sometime around or just after the release of Love Actually? At this point it is hard to look at her
