A Wes Cougar Carr/Jessica Mauboy Knowles Duet May Be On The Cards!

Tremendous news from the world of Australian Idol alumni! Apparently Defamer Australia’s best buddy Wes Carr and R&B superstar Jessica Mauboy might end up recording a duet sooner rather than later!

This revelation comes from their manager David Campion.

The Idol duo’s legendary music manager, David Campion, has hinted the two might perform together. Both Wes and Jess performed solo at the NRA Design Awards on the Gold Coast last week and David, who counts several former Idol-ers among his stable, admits he would like to see the pair share the stage.

“I would love to see that happen and I’m trying to talk them into it,” David says. “But I think it’s a matter of finding the right song.”

The Advertiser has quickly jumped in with a suggestion.

What about the George Michael/Aretha Franklin classic I Knew You Were Waiting?

Well, it does seem like the obvious choice now, doesn’t it?

It seems a duet won’t happen until Jessica has completed promotional duties in Japan, so we’ve got a while to come up with something better. Any ideas, Defamer Australia readers? Let’s be honest, no matter what Wes Cougar Carr and Jessica Mauboy Knowles shit out in the studio, it’s going to be better than Natalie Bassingthwaighte and Shannon Noll’s version of Don’t Give Up, to which a nation screamed in response “No, no! Give up! It’s not worth it! Step away from the mics!”. Even The Bass, god love her, allegedly admitted that it was, ahem, a lapse in judgement. Still, all for a good cause…

PS: Bugger it, it’s Friday – let’s soak in some Peter Gabriel/Kate Bush genius. And then we’ll all cry and virtually hold each other.

Islands In The Stream! Islands In The Stream!

That is the correct song to be sung whenever two oppositely gendered performers unite.

Can’t go wrong with Peter Gabriel & Kate Bush! Except when Shannon Noll & NatBas sing them!

I love this song, the words are so meaningful. I have found that all of the female singers are really good but when it comes to the males, Shannon Noll is the only one that seems to be able to get the true meaning across. He makes you feel as though he is trying to make you understand how important it is to NOT give up. Worth a listen. Cheers Suzi :)

    • Exactly what I was trying to say, except the opposite.

Hi Jess Mc Guire, I don’t mean to be rude but I am a little confused with your comment, could you please be a little more specific . Please don’t be offended by this comment. Cheers Suzi :)

Don’t Go Breaking My Heart by Elton John & Kiki Dee. PLEASE SING THIS, WES!

Save Your Love by Renee and Renato.

Sorry, it can’t be Islands in the Stream. Michael Scott from The Office owns it. he did the ultimate version of that duet – with himself.

How about – You Don’t Bring Me Flowers Anymore by Neil Diamond and Barbara Streisand? Or one we could all get behind for Aussie duet remakes -’Enough is enough’

p.s. disappointed you didn’t go with the original Kate film clip. this is clearly an unapproved version as there is no wind machine.
