That Dream Coldplay/John Farnham Collaboration Is Becoming More And More Likely
Oh, joyous and glorious day! My hoping and praying seems to be working, as the papers are reporting that Chris Martin is dropping hints about delivering the You’re The Voice goods with Australia’s own Big JF at the Sound Relief concert in a way that is making us all believe it’s possible, it’s really possible!
Coldplay have hinted at a surprise for fans during their set at this weekend’s Sydney Sound Relief concert. The British group are rumoured to be joined on stage by John Farnham to perform his iconic hit You’re The Voice when they open the bushfire and flood benefit concert on Saturday.
And what’s Chris Martin telling journalists with a “knowing smile”?
Chris Martin and co played coy when asked about it ahead of the first Sydney concert of their Australian tour tonight. “Nothing particularly special is happening, probably at the end of the set,” the singer said with a knowing smile.
“And because we’re not doing anything special for it, we’ve had to do extra rehearsals.”
Since I imagine I’ll be suffering from an epic birthday party hangover after Friday night, I think I’ll probably be parked in front of the telly/radio salivating at the thought of John Farnham taking the stage with one of the biggest bands in the world and belting out AN AUSTRALIAN CLASSIC.

Well… Coldplay DID tag a small part of ‘You’re the Voice’ onto the end of ‘Yellow’ at last night’s show at Sydney’s ACER Arena. It’s all looking likely!
